Hey BAs! I could use some input...

I'll be flying into Indiana for a wedding this weekend. I'm unfamiliar with the area, but am looking to experience some great beer. A couple of questions for you:

    1) I would love to try some Three Floyds, as it's incredibly difficult to get where I am. I'm limited by transportation to just the Ft. Wayne vicinity. Can you recommend a good bar and/or store where I could get some Three Floyds (hopefully Zombie Dust, :grinning:)?

    2) I have a long wait for my ride from the CVG airport. Any recommendations for a place to get a decent beer in the airport?

    3) As I'll be meeting with a bunch of old college friends (all huge beer geeks), and we'll go out for drinks, any beer restaurant/bar recommendations in the Fort Wayne area?

Thanks in advance. I look forward to all the great input!

You can find a good selection of Three Floyds at almost any Ft Wayne Liquor store (S&V, Belmont, Cap n Cork). Zombie Dust is pretty hit or miss. You might have better luck finding it on tap. If you are downtown, The Hoppy Gnome has 58 taps, JK O'Donnells and Dash In are also worthwhile. Calhoun Street Soups Salads & Spirits is also good. If you are east, hit the Trion in New Haven (tons of 3F on tap). If you are west, Black Dog Pub is alright as well as 800 Degrees Three Fires. BM me if you need more info.

Edit- I forgot, Summit City Brewing is also close to downtown, tons of taps of their own beer as well as numerous guest taps. A pretty cool place.

Double edit: I just saw on Facebook that Black Dog Pub is having a 3F tap takeover starting this Thur. with Zombie Dust and a bunch of others. Don't know what they will have left by the weekend, though.

Ha, ha, my bad. I started using 3F way back in the day, need to stop I guess. Wouldn't want to upset the acronym police.

Oh, and you are welcome @glorytoArnulf.

You did really well so far. Fort Wayne stores can be very tough to find several can't miss beers. There's a Facebook group that hits the area with reckless abandon. Several hard to find, and even regulars, often hit the shelf behind the counter waiting for the group. Majority of the time, it's not worth even looking.

Yeah, it amazes me that it's so hard to find ANY 3 Floyds (even Alpha or Yum Yum).

Also, the Trion Tabern was fucking amazing; all drafts were $3.50 and they had Bomb!, Zombie Dust, Dreadnaught, Robert The Bruce, Wig Splitter, and Double Two Hearted on tap!

I'll be in Fort Wayne for a couple days. We'll be visiting family and have the kids so there will be no beer excursion, but I'm definitely getting to a brewery (without the kids). If I'm only going to visit one brewery and one store/bottle shop, which should I visit?

Fort Wayne is finally catching up with beer choices. Summit City Brewerks, Trubble Brewing, Junk Ditch, and Mad Anthony are a few choices for breweries. I'd go with Summit City or Trubble. Good craft bar choices include Ted's Market (excellent) and Hoppy Gnome downtown. Stores are still hit and miss. Belmont has several locations. The Dupont Rd location is my go to. S&V Liquors also has locations, the Illinois Rd store has a decent selection, but some of the employees there are big in the FB beer group. Have a great trip!
