Will be staying 4 nights in Frisco next month. Will definitely hit up Outer Range. Anything else worth doing? I saw Casey distributes to a store in Frisco, but are there good options? I know Vail and Breckenridge are close as well, so anything in particular There? Can also bring some Prairie or American Solera stuff if anyone is local.
There's that one spot with all the loons, one off Caseys and fresh Melvin. Its behind that restaurant near the lifts. I think Comrade even distributes there. A use of the search function here should turn it up.
There's a liquor store in the same same shopping center as Outer Range called Base Camp Liquors. I stop by there on my way home from Casey and they've always had some good Casey bottles. Pretty reliably have the Saison, The Low End and at least a Fruit Stand. Last trip there in January they had bottles of The Mix Nectarine Bank. They also have a pretty good selection including RR stuff (though that seems to be making regular appearances around Boulder as well). As far as outside Frisco, there's West Vail Liquor just off I-70, I've never had any luck finding Casey there. If you do end up in Glenwood Springs, there's a place just a hop from Casey on Highway 82 called 82 Liquors, funny enough! They too always have at least 3-4 different Casey options from my visits there.
I like a trip to Prosit sausages/beer in Frisco. Dillon is close, too with Pug Ryan's and Dillon Dam breweries. Baker's Brewery is new...don't know much about it.
Baker's is a couple years old now. I haven't been there recently. In Breckenridge, Broken Compass definitely worth a visit. Outer Range obviously. I also like Dillon Dam (might be called Dam Brewery now?)- it's quite large, the food is decent, and a large selection of beers. Pug Ryans and Bakers would be worth checking out if you have time to spare. Second to Basecamp wine and Spirits, that place has excellent selection, prices aren't terrible. Make sure to go into the beer cooler. If you are in the mood for a "fancy" dinner, I recommend Ember in Breckenridge, they have a little outside deck dining area that is nice is the weather is good, and usually have some local craft beers on tap.
Pretty much all of the beer being made up there is good...or at least it was. I guess the Broken Compass guys have had a falling out, so I dunno if that affects anything. Assuming it doesn't, I'd say hit 'em all including Baker's, Dam, and Pug's.
Just read the article. Co-owner split with Co-owner/Head brewer in disagreement. Brewer staying, other guy bought Backcountry Brewery & will start a new venture, presumably a brewery.
Check out Vinny's in Frisco for great food and a solid beer list. They usually have a Broken Compass tap or 2. @Mebuzzard already mentioned it, but I second Prosit as a fun place to grab a sausage or pretzel and a German brew of 2
Going to be back in Frisco for a few days in late July. Looking forward to hitting up Basecamp and Prosit again. Will I really be able to find RR at Basecamp? Because that would be pretty damn sweet. Sounds like we need to hit up Outer Range too. Other recs not noted?
There are a few breweries that are close. A quick drive to Silverthorne/Dillon will give you Angry James Brewery, Dillon Dam Brewery, The Bakers Brewery, Pug Ryan Brewery. Go up the road to Breckinridge for Breckinridge Brewery and Broken Compass.
Russian River stuff is available in Denver, Loveland, Colorado Springs, just about everywhere that I've been in the state (at good stores for craft beer). We usually get Consecration, Supplication, and Pliney the Elder (but it usually sells out in a day or two).
