I'll be staying the the Uptown area of Dallas this weekend. Any can't/shouldn't miss spots? Someone mentioned Meddlesome Moth(?). Obviously, pretty spoiled out here in the Northeast in regards to the IPA scene. So looking for a nice variety. Thanks.
Taps and Caps in Lewisville has a fantastic selection of local brews. On Rotation in Deep Ellum is closer to Uptown and has a great selection as well. Bring some Good Morning with you!
Community Brewery and Deep Ellum Brewing won't be too far from you? Will you have a rental car or a way to get around?
I live extremely close to Uptown (in Oaklawn), you've got a very good selection nearby. Like you mentioned, Meddlesome Moth is very close by and has a great selection on tap and in bottles. In Uptown, you can try the Alcove. They typically will have a few very good beers on tap. You'll also be fairly close to Deep Ellum, which includes: Braindead Brewing, and Deep Ellum Brewing Company. You'll also not far from Craft and Growler. If you do venture to Meddlesome Moth, you'll be in the Design District. Also in the Design District, you'll find Rodeo Goat (very good and affordable selection) and Community Brewing. Venturing east, like others have mentioned, you'll run into Strangeways. They've got a great tap and bottle selection. Be sure to stop next door at El Come Taco for great street tacos. The Whole Foods on McKinney will have a good selection of bottles as well.
Thanks for all the responses. We will have a car, but probably plan to stay in the general vicinity. Based on that burger menu alone, Rodeo Goat looks like a must!!
It's a little bit of a drive from where you are (15-20 minutes), but Lone Star Beverages in Carrollton is one of the best bottle shops around. Great bottle selection and the staff is extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Well worth the drive.
Dallas can suck sometimes but they sure do burgers well. May be worth looking at Hopdoddy's tap list as well. Great burgers and good beers.
