Hoping the locals can suggest a 'nice' place. I'm getting married on a cruise ship and get back into port on 10/12 (Sunday), we are then flying out of Miami on 10/13 (Monday) for our honeymoon. We are looking to visit Funky Buddha on that Sunday and spend the night relatively close to the brewery. My searches have not turned up much as far as hotels, except in Ft Lauderdale. How far is Ft Lauderdale from Oakland Park?

    Any suggestions/tips/anything is appreciated.

    Thanks guys!

Depending on where you are in Ft. Lauderdale, it's going to be about 10-15 minutes to Funky Buddha. I'm not super familiar with the area but I think Ft. Lauderdale will still be your best bet for a nicer hotel. I stayed at in Ft. Lauderdale in July and it was about 10 minutes away.

Fort Lauderdale is pretty close to Oakland Park - like 10 minutes - or about a $10-15 cab ride depending on where you are.

That's a good choice. Nice hotel, fairly close to Funky Buddha so you can get a cheap cab over there and back. Also when you head to Miami the next day the on-ramp to I-95 South is right there.

We do all of our work functions at that hotel, so it was the first one that came to mind.

If you're staying in DT Fort Lauderdale check out ROK BRGR, they've got some solid eats and we always try and grab a bite there when we're visiting. (they'll usually have Funky and due South on tap as well as some other good locals.

So the Funky Buddha bottle releases are coming back around! On Friday they announced that they will be releasing "soon" Undefeated Saison (caged and corked bottle). Not sure how good that will be based on their other saisons (Pearl Diver was just OK; same with Saison du Funk) but I'll probably buy it anyway. But here's the big news, posted on their Facebook this morning. The Tripel sounds good, but I've been waiting for the BA Snowed In bottle release all year. It will taste so good when it touches my lips next month. Cheers y'all.

Here's a little bottle news for your Monday morning:

Barrel-Aged Triple Tripel will be released on October 27th here at the brewery! This Belgian-style ale was aged in Apple Brandy, Bourbon, and Rye Whiskey barrels and then blended together. This bottle will retail for $20 each, and we'll limit 1 per person.

Next up in November, we'll finally be releasing our Bourbon Barrel-Aged Snowed In! This imperial version of our Last Snow Porter was aged in bourbon barrels for months and infused with coconut, white chocolate, and coffee. More details on that release will come soon.

    Cheers!

Are they still sending out the Imperial Club Newsletter to members? Last one I received was August 4th. I get all the updates from their FB page anyways but was just curious. Also, any word on what the imperial club bottle might be this time?

Agreed on the Snowed In release. I would like to see them do an event like they did for MBCP.

I prefer Tripels to Dubbels & Quads and am a fan of the good Belgian ones such as Tripel Karmeliat and Westmalle Trappist. I haven't had a BA Tripel either, so I'll definitely get one of these.

I would like them to release the BA Snowed in at noon on a Wednesday....

@TheSamKuehn I haven't gotten any word on our Imperial bottle, but if BA Snowed in is available to everyone...the Imperial bottle better be something stupid good...

I posted my comment here about 12:20pm yesterday and received the newest newsletter around 4:30pm yesterday. What I was trying to figure out, when I posted my comment, was whether or not there was an Imperial Newsletter since August 4th and then 4 hours after my question a new newsletter arrived. Just funny timing.
