    Hi,
My wife and I (along with our 6 month old) plan to spend a week in the Grand Rapids area in July. Can anyone give me a snapshot of key breweries and/or brew pubs that are "must visit?" I would love to see Founders of course. They seem to have a $10 tour and then a $30 tour/tasting. Is the tour/tasting really worth the $30/person?! Seems pricey. In addition to brew visits, if there's anything else you might recommend that we do, I'd love to hear it. Thanks!

BTW, after posting this I see that there are other threads about this topic. I'll check them out. But, please feel free to respond if you have a chance. Thanks!

    Mike,

Founders is a must. HopCat is an awesome brew pub. Mitten and Vivant are worth the stop. I would recommend heading to Grand Haven for Odd Side, walking around town, and the State Park (Lake Michigan and the beach are very nice in July)... On that same note, Holland has a better beer scene but downtown is not walking distance from the beach. New Holland, Our Brewing Company,.. but a 15 minute drive to the State Park.

Brewery Vivant is a must along with HopCat. Grand Rapids BC and Harmony BC are unique stops and are good to grab an app or two. Of course Perrin which is just north of Grand Rapids in Comstock Park.

Non-beer stop would be Propaganda Donuts....best/freshest donuts you will ever have!
