Next weekend we'll be driving from Birmingham to Baton Rouge with a stop in Hattiesburg. I have a working list of places and beers to check out. Let me know if I'm missing anything or if any of these are easy to come by. I'm still in summer mode and am looking forward to trying some regional IPA's.

    Hattiesburg:
    Mahogany Bar
    Keg & Barrel

    Baton Rouge:
    The Bulldog
    The Chimes Highland

    Beers:
Great Raft Grace and Grit DIPA
Great Raft DDH Commotion Pale Ale
Parrish Ghost In The Machine DIPA
    Parrish Opus Vert IPA
    Parrish Envie Pale Ale
    Parrish Bloom IPA

Southern Prohibition Brewery is in Hattiesburg Ms. I enjoy thier Mississippi fire ant and crowd control imperial IPA. Should give them a try.

Thanks for recommendation. We actually get Southern Prohibition in Birmingham and you're right their stuff is good.

Corporate Brew & Draft in BR has most of those beers you're seeking on tap right now, really chill spot.

You should be able to find Ghost pretty easy, but vert and bloom probably won't be available. Envie is easy to get around town. Grace and grit might be available in cans but not sure. It has been on draft though.

@Nhens0016 Cool, thanks! Any suggestions on bottle shops in Baton Rouge? Was looking at hitting up Calandro's.

    Trip Update:

Hattiesburg - Friday we ate lunch at Mahogany Bar which had some good cajun food and a classic pub feel. They also had lots of local and regional stuff on draft. We got a pint of Southern Prohibition Paradise Lost IPA and Devil's Harvest Session IPA. Both were great but Paradise Lost was outstanding and the best beer I had all weekend.

Baton Rouge - Stopped at Corporate Brew for beers before dinner. The interior was lacking but the draft list was impressive. We got pours of Ghost in the Machine, Great Raft Grace and Grit, and Gnarly Barley Jucifer. I preferred Ghost and my wife preferred Grace and Grit but all were well made.

We got dinner at The Chimes Highland which had a cool neighborhood vibe with a nice beer list. Ate some burgers and drank Great Raft Commotion Pale Ale and Reasonably Corrupt Schwarzbier. Must say Great Raft is putting out some solid beers.

On the way to the hotel we stopped at Calandro's Supermarket to pick up some bottles. In the corner they have a pretty good but unorganized beer selection. Grabbed some Ghost, The Bruery, and Peche Mortel (which turned out to be over a year and half old!).

Meridian - On the drive back to Birmingham Saturday we stopped at Brickhaus in Meridian for dinner. Dive bar atmosphere for sure. I would have complimented them on their tap list which was on Untappd but it was woefully out of date and we were shot down 4 times before we found a beer they had on draft. Pub food was surprisingly good though.

We had a good short road trip to some underrated cities and had some standout beers. Hoping breweries like Parish and Great Raft can distribute to AL sometime soon and I plan to closely watch for special releases from Southern Prohibition.
