@TargaFlorio @nw2571 Thanks for the tips! I did notice there were a couple Crown locations in Avon not too far from where I'm staying and since I'm planning to check out Brew Link and Black Swan they will be convenient.

I made the mistake about not checking dates on my last trip in and checked out PP North. I usually remind myself to do so but being so overwhelmed with a new spot and the selection it completely slipped my mind and bit me. Discovered when I got back to the hotels several of the singles I picked up were 8+ months old. I'll try to do better at remembering this time!

    Thanks again for the suggestions!

Brewlink is an awesome place! Not very big, but all their beers are good. Their milkshake IPAs are amazing.

Thanks for the recs all. Flying in this morning. Will probably skip 450N since it does not appear they have cans left. Looking forward to checking out Brew Link, Back Swan, Daredevil and snagging cans from either PP on Rt 11 or one of the Crown locations near where I'm staying in Avon. Anything specific beers I should be on the lookout for either in can/bottles or on draft?

    TIA. Let's Go Racing Boys!

Not too sure what special releases may be out in cans or bottles at the moment. I always recommend checking out beers from Bare Hands Brewing for anyone visiting the state. They don't get the out-of-state hype that places like Three Floyds or 18th Street get, but they make some damn good beers. Their "Westy IPA" and "Thai.pa" are really good year-round releases. Their NE Style IPA like "Drain the Swamp" and "Joe England" also seem to be real popular (i'm not a huge NEIPA guy myself).

I also might put a plug in for my favorite Indy brewery, Black Acre. If you go to Parti-Pak you might pick up a few of their singles. I'd especially recommend Chai Guy - a chai tea milk stout which I think is great. I may sip on a Daredevil Rip Cord DIPA during the race myself. Enjoy and let us know what places and beers you liked!

Thanks for the info! Got a little tied up with work related stuff in between stops so probably won’t have time to make it to PP. did check out Black Swan for lunch when I first arrived. Beers were decent to below par. Stopped in BrewLink for a flight a really enjoyed it. Their Hopsec DIPA was terrible but Nutter Cup, Double-O and Pretty Pretty Awkward Strawberry Milkshake more than made up for that. May swing back by for cans of D-O and their other 2 milkshakes (orange creamsicle and peach mango) before close if I don’t end up finding anything at the Crown or Royal Liquors in Avon. Will be checking out Daredevil for some of the 500.

Glad to hear about Nutter Cup, I picked up a single last week. Looking forward to trying it.

Does 450 North serve food other than pizzas or do they serve smaller pies? Just had my evening open up and considering the 50 minute drive down for dinner / flights. Worth the drive down and back on a Monday late afternoon? My alternative (non-brewery) closer options would be Kuma's Korner, HopCat, Liter House or Twenty Tap.

Haven't been in a couple of years, but my usual stops are Sun King, the Koelschip/Central State, Daredevil, and Deviate. Need to keep it downtown via the airport, or on our way north to Kokomo. Looks like there's a *ton* of new-to-me breweries that we could potentially hit (Indiana City, Metazoa, Flat 12, TwoDEEP, Centerpoint, Cannonball, Union, Grand Junction, Field, etc, etc..). Any recommendations that would be on our way?

Bare Hands and Black Acre recs, I like the cut of your jib sir!

Neither of these places get as much love as I think they should.

Also, possible unpopular opinions incoming: 1 Please don't reward the mule factory that is 450 North 2 Over the years I've hit up Deviate and never been too impressed with most of their beers, especially compared to what else you can get in Indy. Haven't been there in about a year so maybe things have changed? YMMV
