Visiting Kingston, NY this weekend

    I'm from North Carolina and would really like to bring back some good beers I can't find down south. Anyone have any suggestions? I'll probably be stopping by a beer store in Kingston and maybe Catskill.

    The only beer I have on my list so far is Flower Power.

    Also, can you find Heady Topper anywhere in the Mid-Hudson area?

    No Heady Topper - distribution is basically limited to Vermont for that one...

    You might check out Maine Beer Company as they have some really enjoyable beers and I'm pretty sure those do not get distributed to NC. Make sure you get really fresh Flower Power.

    I recommend that you go to Half Time in Poughkeepsie for a bottle shop as it probably has some of the best selection in the area. Also, I recommend using seekabrew.com to determine what is available in NY that is not available in NC.

    There is a brewery in Kingston called Keegan Ales. They brew some pretty decent beers, especially the Joe Mama's Milk Stout. I'd check them out if you have time. They do growler's at the brewery and you can find their bottles all over the area.

    Other than that, I'd check out Half Time like dbrauneis said.
