I'm going to be in Lincoln NH at the end of September and I was wondering if there were any good beer bars to check out while I'm in town.
Woodstock is the only show in town I know. Not sure what the Common Man keeps on tap. Wayne's Market is a really good place to get local NH only like Squam and 603.
Yep - Wayne's does have a surprisingly good selection. I've never seen anything more exotic than their C-Man ale at Common Man (brewed by Smutty and somewhat similar to Finestkind.)
Not much outside the Woodstock Brewery as far as I know. I'd stop at Woodstock, especially if their front patio is still open, which is a really nice spot for a beer and a meal. After that, though, I'd make the drive across the Kanc for more options. There, you've got Moat Mountain, plus a handful of better restaurants with decent beer lists, plus Prodigal selling bottles at area farmers markets, and Ebenezer's a short drive away in Maine. I've heard others mention some spots in Plymouth just north of Lincoln, but I have no experience myself, except to say that the food from Burrito Me at beer fests has always been very impressive.
I think Woodstock is definitely worth a stop at least once.... But it is the only spot in town worth stopping for beer. I've found a few craft taps at other places in town like Gordi's Fish and Steak. Was there not long ago and they had Smutty, long trail, a magic heat seasonal...maybe a tuckermans too...nothing to write home about but enough to keep you happy for a meal. There used to be a wine bar in town with thoughtful food including tapas, and they carried some good stuff. I remember ordering a bomber of Long Trail's imperial porter there. Unfortunately they closed down, I assume because they didnt cater to families so much and that seems to be the core of Lincoln's visitors...just speculating though.
