Visiting Long Beach, Manhattan Beach and El Segundo

    Hi all,

    I'm starting to browse the thousand threads there are on this subject, but my dad is visiting Long Beach, Manhattan Beach and El Segundo Feb 8-10th. He has offered to pick up some of the brews I can't get out here (East Coast, DC), so if there's one spot to ask him to stop, where would it be? Would be great if they also have an awesome whiskey selection (can you get whiskey where you buy beer out there?), since that's also a shared interest. Thanks again for your help!

    Well, at liquor stores you can get both, but not sure what you'll really find out here that you may not find in your neck of the woods in the spirits department.

    I would highly suggest El Segundo brewery if you like beers on the hoppy side. But if you don't want to have your dad drive around the many breweries in the south bay area, a stop to the El Segundo Whole Foods could take care of multiple itches and has a wide selection to choose from in the beer department as well as decent sized spirits selection.

    In Long Beach, whatever Beachwood Brewery has in bottles is well worth getting, if there's anything up for sale in bottles. Growlers are also a viable option.

    Whole Foods in El Segundo
    otherwise Total Wine Redondo Beach which carries liquor as well as craft beers. Unless he's looking for craft whiskey.

    I'd say have him stop at Wine Country and Stearns in Long Beach. The stores are fairly close to each other and will have a great selection of craft whiskey and beer

    Thanks! This is super helpful. And just thinking if there was whiskey it would make him a little more content! Also you'd be surprised. VA liquor is state controlled so we get pretty poor selections unless you go into dc who gets a lot more.

    Number1 Liquor in Redondo, has a very nice whiskey selection as well as beer. Even Pappy if you got the money.
