I searched and was unable to find a guide for those visiting Milwaukee. I'll be heading there for the first time in a few months and was looking for brewery, bottle shop, brewpub recommendations. If a thread already exists, please post it. Thanks.

I'll let others with more knowledge contribute the majority, but here are my two big picks:

    1) Lakefront Brewery - I don't love all their beers, but their location is gorgeous. They're basically on a riverwalk, so you can drink with a hell of a view. The inside is huge as well.

    2) Not a beer bar (although they do have beer), but if you're at all a fan of spy movies (judging by my screenname you may correctly assume I am), I'd highly recommend SafeHouse. It's a kinda kitschy (big) spy-themed bar, and it's very cool if you're into James Bond and the like. It being huge is a nice bonus, because you will usually find plenty of room to spread out and explore all the cool shit they have inside. There's a password to get in.

Breweries to consider visiting include already mentioned Lakefront (beer is decent but the tour is fantastic), 1840 Brewing Co. (great spot in Bayview, fantastic beer), Eagle Park (great food, very good beer especially if you're into pastry stouts and hazy IPAs), Black Husky and Third Space.

Do the Lakefront tour and stay for a beer and curds or pretzel, then walk across the bridge over to Eagle Park for plenty of trendy IPAs—check their Facebook for info on Saturday beer releases.

Go to Third Space for some of the best and most reliable options in the city, which is convenient if you'll be doing touristy stuff in the Third Ward or want to go to the casino.

I'd recommend 1840 if you're going to make your way to Bay View to hit some of the best beer bars in the city: Sugar Maple and Burnhearts.

If you're going to be downtown by Fiserv Forum, then the new MKE Brewing space and Pabst are worthwhile options.

Lakefront tour for sure. Eagle park and 1840 are the 2 best places to go in my opinion right now.

Ray's for bottles or general shopping.

    Eagle Park and 1840.

Check out Sugar Maple for an awesome beer bar.

If you're thinking of doing the Lakefront tour, and time permits, look into the Lakefront_Technical_Tour My wife and I took it and really enjoyed it. Yes, it's $40 per person, but there's definitely enough food served that you won't need lunch! And the food pairings really work well. Somebody put some serious thought into the pairings.

I didn't see Roman's Pub or Burnheart's posted - both are very good beer bars in Bayview. Roman's Pub always has a lot of good barrel aged options.

Good City's downtown location (right by Fiserv Forum) is now open as well.

I'd check out City Lights and then head down the road to Third Space. Also recommend MobCraft!

Bay view is a fun neighborhood, some wonderful restaurants. Burnhearts, sugar maple, & Romans are great bars. 1840 and eagle Park are solid, so is third space. Good recs all around. Mob craft has a cool space but I would not bother. Beers are meh.
