I will be in Minneapolis Sat PM-Mon noonish. Looking at the places list, it looks like Barley Johns will be a good bet for some dinner. Any other recommendations? Average beer choices are acceptable if the food is worth it. Is there a do not miss bottle shop in town? Lastly, if anyone wants to do an IP trade for some IST, Gandhi-Bot, etc, let me know by Friday night. Thanks!
Town Hall, Muddy Waters, Blue Nile (as Al already pointed out above), The Happy Gnome - if you want to trek out to St. Paul, Stub and Herbs, Bryant Lake Bowl, the list kinda goes on and on as there are lots of good places to check out. Have fun!
South Lyndale Liquors has more craft beer than any other store in the metro area, George and the Dragon has great food and a small but worthy beer list as does Black Bird Cafe, both Bulldogs have superb and unique menus with outstanding beer lists and if you want a decent dive Liquor Lyles has a pretty decent craft tap selection and decent food but it is permanently 2-for-1 happy hour there!
Tilia is a good mix of great food and good beer list (i think 28 taps). Would also recommend Butcher and the Boar. The food is incredible, great patio and good beer list.
Op, if you got some open time, hit me up. Wife and son are out of town for 10 days. So the shackles are off, wouldnt mind sharing a beer or twenty.
Thanks for all the advice and offers folks! Looks like I may need to change my dinner plans for Sat night to the Blue Nile and try something hoppy.
The Four Firkins in St Louis Park is the only store in Minnesota that sells only craft beer. The place is beautiful as well.
I did, though unfortunately I didn't make it to Blue Nile, monk. Nice town, I'm looking forward to my next visit!
