Hello, I am going to be traveling to Minneapolis later this week visiting family, not really beer people. I am looking for a good beer store, somewhat between the airport and maple grove I can stop at and grab beer. I will be stocking up on furious but what other beers should I pick up to try or bring home with me back to Maine Thanks for your help
Pinceton's Liquors in Maple Grove. Zipps if you're heading to the airport, it's not too far out of the way.
Princeton's in the Maple Grove area or Zipp's in Minneapolis as mentioned above. As far as local beers, grab some Surly, Summit Saga, Brau Bros. Moo Joos, Ovalde, Steel Toe Size 7 (not at all stores unfortunately), Indeed Midnight Rider or Day Tripper, Schell's Emerald Rye or Chimney Sweep or Barleywine (if it's out), Fulton Worthy Adversary or War and Peace to name a few solid offerings. Regional beers to go for would be Bell's, Founders, Odell, and Tyranena if you don't get those in your area. Should give you a solid list to start with at least.
I agree, Princeton's is nice. Four Firkins is ok too, I just find that place to be way too douchey for my tastes... If you seek something specific feel free to put out an iso/ft or hit me up. I can trade w you.
I probably just had a poor experience. Great beer for sure, and I shouldn't post my biases, sorry about that.
I think i'll probably hit up Zipps as I will be heading downtown after my flight. Thanks for the suggestions
Abrasive is still around, you should definitely pick up some of that. Also, you may be able to line up some IP trades for local limiteds, if you want. I'd be down for some Maine goodness.
Agree with this, I might be able to find a bottle of Darkness for trade for some interesting things from Maine.
