    I'd include Heritage on the list for St. Paul. They're near the border and are a great spot.

    I like the section for liquor stores in the metro. I also like the idea of creating said list for just outside the metro!

    May I suggest...G-Will Liquors Brooklyn Park. :slight_smile::wink:

    Nice post, I'll be in the Twin Cities next month for the Stadium Series. I'll be staying around the University. I've been to Town Hall, Surly, Indeed, Dangerous Man, Insight, North Gate, and Day Block when I was up there last year. I'm still deciding which ones to hit up this time around while I'm there for a couple of days.

    Fair State and Sisyphus are a couple local notables not on your list of already-visited.

    We were visiting the Central Lakes area in May 2014 and I was reminiscing about the summers I spent there in the 60's & early 70's at my grandparent's house on Clark Lake. I'd like to mention some of the Central Lakes brewers in this thread. First is Big Axe Brewing in Nisswa. Haven't been to this brewery, but had a nice discussion at the Stonehouse Coffee Roastery about it with one of the folk who was planning its creation at the time. He also told me about another local that had just got started a year or two before, Gull Dam Brewing, and mentioned Jack Pine Brewing in Baxter as well. Hope to visit these old stomping grounds in summer sometime soon and have some time to relax, fish, and enjoy the local brews.

    It's worth trying all three. Jackpine is by far the gem of the three. I go back and forth on Gull Dam and Big Axe...both have had some inconsistencies. Gull Dam was pretty solid right out of the gate but their brewer left and I have no idea who has taken over but there have been more issues since the brewer left. Big Axe brewer is still figuring things out.

    In an effort to make this thread/info more visible, I'd suggest copying the relevant "base" info and making it into a new post every month or every 2 months. Title it, "Visiting Minnesota - February 2016". Add any time/seasonally sensitive info in the thread. This is the approach I've seen used in a couple of the other regional threads.

    New info that is added via the discussions that follow can be rolled up into the baseline info and threads won't get cluttered with arguing or non seasonally relevant info.

    That was my original intent. But I have no idea if visitors to the area found it helpful as the thread disappeared quite quickly and forgotten. Does not help that no one on this site knows how to use the forum search function. That is why I chose to abandon the project. But if someone else wants to take it up, they have my blessing.

    We maybe able to get a mod to help keep the first post up to date if we ask nicely and/or bribe with beer.
