Will be in Minneapolis next weekend for family wedding. Only have Saturday and Sunday night to do much of anything really. Does this sound doable?

Sat - Morning farmers markets and beer shopping. Family lunch afternoon. Surly Tour 6pm, Indeed + Dangerous Man (open till 11/12), Town Hall (open till 2am correct?)

Sun - hit up Hudson WI in the morning, grab some beers at Chicones + Casanova for afternoon BBQ. Late Sunday is open as of now, any events happening? I have a long list of bars, not sure what are best on a Sunday.

Any other tips? I've been to Minneapolis a tonne since I'm from Winnipeg, but haven't been in quite a few years. Looking forward to it!

Looks like a solid plan to me. Maybe eat lunch at Town Hall and slide Harriet in for the evening. Personal preference, but the plan you described looks like one crafted by a local.

Town Hall doesnt always stay open until 2, good thing, Republic across the street does. Definitely hit them up, great taps, above decent food. Indeed and Dangerous Man are a must. Had a friend in from out of town and did pretty much the exact same trek that you state above.

    Depending on the time:
Steel Toe is 5-6 minutes south of Surly on Hwy 100 & 36th st
612 Brewing is 2 minutes from Indeed (Central and Broadway)

    IMO don't bother with 612...

If you want to go to another brewery in NE, go to Sociable Cider Werks.

I second the Cider Werks recommendation, especially if you plan to spend some time in NE Mpls. If you're going to Hudson I would make a pit stop in Stillwater and check out Lift Bridge.

If you are on the Wisconsin side of the river Sunday afternoon, I recommend Dave's Brewfarm for a unique experience. Open until 8 now, get a flight of 8 beers for $10, some of which don't fit into any style.

True 612 isn't one of the top taprooms, but if it's nice outside and you've just finished up at Indeed there are a couple beers (Rated R, if you like rye IPA's) that are enjoyable.

I understand why 612 doesn't get a lot of love from the craft beer community (uhhh...beer aged on Sour Patch Kids?), but for those of us who prefer lagers to ales, they're a decent option. I can't find another brewery in the Cities that makes a beer similar to 612's Gateway Park Lager, which I think is outstanding.

Northbound Brewpub and Smokehouse would be a great option for you on Sunday afternoon. their beer is excellent, and the food is better.

I dont know how large your group is, But Dangerous Man and Indeed tend to be at capacity every now and then. May be a bit of a wait on a saturday evening, especially if it's nice out

Ha, my family was shaking their head when I described my Saturday night plan. I might be the only one still standing by midnight  Republic is for sure near the top of my list, especially if they have good food too.

    Thanks for all the info!

Good to know. I think the largest of our group will be at Surly where I believe we have a tour reso, after that not sure. Nice to have some other options if anyplace is full.

Staying with family in Minnetonka area. Closest bottle shops of note I could find are Four Firkins and Zipps.

Ace may be worth a visit too, not too far from Minnetonka. It's a small shop but they have some interesting craft items every time I've been in.

Hey is there a thread for the Beer Dabbler at Pride Fest? My wife and I are coming to town next week and will be attending the fest, looks like it's gonna be pretty great!

If you don't catch them on Saturday, Steel Toe in St. Louis Park is open on Sundays from noon to 6pm - definitely worth a visit.
