    Hey guys,
My parents are visiting Nashua, NH at the end of this week and I was wondering if there were any in particular brews they should be looking for. I was going to have them get some FW stuff if available. Any awesome local bombers to perhaps look out for?

    Thanks in advance!
    Eric

In Nashua there is Jaspers - a homebrew supply store that stocks some good beers and in upper Nashua there is The Beerstore NH which stocks a lot of local stuff. Just across the MA border in Tyngsborough is The Liquor Shoppe which would have FW beers. I haven't been to any of these in months so I don't know what they have. Another good store is Groton Market smaller selection but what they have is stellar.

New Hampshire's out-of-state distribution has been improving a lot lately, but it's still well behind Massachusetts. Since Nashua is right on the state line, you might want to have your parents head south if you have something very specific that you're looking for.

That said, FW and several other sought-after breweries are available in NH these days, and stores like The Beer Store in Nashua and Bert's Better Beers in Hooksett (about 25 mins north) should have everything available from them in the state.

For local stuff that you can't get outside the area, I'd recommend (among others):
    • Maine Beer Company (Zoe and Peeper are fairly easy to find, just saw them at Bert's)
    • Pretty Things (only in Mass)
    • White Birch (especially Hop Session, Hooksett Ale, Crown of Gold, and Hop to Wit. If your parents are into beer themselves at all, the folks at WB do tastings and tours in Hooksett)
    • Throwback (only in NH, especially Dippity Do Brown)
    • Moat Mountain (only in NH)
    • Nepenthe (AKA Candia Rd Brewery, only in NH, especially Shire Stout and Solo Springer)
    • Cambridge Brewing Co (AKA CBC, only in Mass, especially Audacity of Hops, Red God, Weekapaug Gruit)
    • Jack's Abby (only in Mass)
    • Wormtown (only in Mass, especially their IPAs)
That's just the local stuff and only places doing bombers (or other large singles). Assuming your parents don't want to drive too far into Mass looking for beer, I'd just take a look at the brewery lists (not necessarily up-to-date) at Bert's, the Beer Store and other places, and see what sounds good to you.

If your parents like beer at all themselves, you should send them to Martha's Exchange in downtown Nashua, which makes some very nice beer and good food. They've got a nice space with plenty of sidewalk seating, as well, but it turns into a nightclub around 10pm on weekend nights, so unless they like that too, they'll want to get there earlier.

Thanks so much for the recommendations! Yeah, my parents are pretty big into craft beer themselves. Everytime we visit Nashua, we hit up Martha's, absolutely love that place. They have a pretty amazing sour there that I got when I was up there about 4 months ago. Is it possible to find Maine Company's Lunch by the way? Or is this a pretty rare beer?

Lunch doesn't exactly fly off shelves but it doesn't sit long either in most places. Last I knew, it was still being brewed on a rotating basis so it depends on when the last batch came out. My parents live near Nashua and the store I usually visit when I'm down there is The Liquor Shop just over the border in Tyngsboro, MA to take advantage of their distribution. The Beer Store in Nashua is definitely one of the a great store, I just don't go there much because I'd rather buy something in MA thats not sold in NH.

If you're at the The Liquor Shop be sure to pick up anything by Jacks Abby. A local brewer (Framingham) from MA doing some really good things. Their Hoponious Union, Jabby Brau, Smoke & Dagger, Ginger & Juice should all be on hand there and worth trying. They don't have any Lunch but they do have MO, Peeper, and Zoe from Maine Beer Co. as of last weekend.

Sounds awesome! Will definitely have them get me something from Jacks Abby then. Does The Liquor Shop carry anything from Pretty Things?

They most certainly do. They have a TON of the Pretty Things/Boulevard Collaboration Stingo. There are multiple bottles in at least three different areas of the store as of 5:00PM today.....
