I am visiting Nashville for work but will have several days free to explore. I also may rent a car if it is needed to get around. Or if there are some must see breweries in near by towns. I am staying downtown near the convention center. Any advise is appreciated. Bars- Breweries- Bottle shops- Food- Clubs- Country Music- Also I am always open to doing a few IP trades or meeting new BAs for a few beers or bottle share. Cheers! Ray
I'm not a local, so I won't give a lot of input, but this way I also get alerted to follow up posts by people smarter than me Check the concert schedule for The Ryman. Venue is legendary, maybe even if the artist isn't your favorite. I don't remember the name, but there's a liquor store next door to the Pour House (We got crap service at Pour House, so I don't recommend) that had a good selection when we visited. Corsair Artisan Distillery also has a taproom, and I don't know if they've released their high gravity beers yet, but it's a place worth visiting, and it's in the same building as the shop from the TV show American Pickers, if you know any fans back home who might appreciate some swag. I've heard good things about Black Abbey, but have not visited there myself.
Frugal McDougal is right next to the Pour House. If you are going to Frugal McDougal's, then you are right by Yazoo Brewing and Peg Leg Porker. Also I like going to Craft Brewed, Flying Saucer, The Pharmacy, and Midtown Liquors.
Skip frugal. Just go to Craft Brewed. If out in Franklin area, hit cool springs brewery and for a bottle shop, Red Dog. Your welcome.
http://www.beeradvocate.com/community/threads/question-re-memphis-or-nashville.233141/ This should cover all your basics. Also Blackstone might be releasing black belle, their ba imp stout , which is pretty tasty on the 7th i believe. AT least thats what they posted a few weeks ago.
Thanks for all the info! I'm headed to Nashville tomorrow 3/4-8. This is a huge help as I plan my trip. I'll be hitting several of these places Wednesday night by myself if anyone wants to meet up for a beer, and then the wife comes in on Thursday and we are hitting Bluebird & GOO. Cheers!
Sadly you came for snowpocalypse part duex here in Nashville. But if you havent hit up flying saucer yet, they have bcbs on tap. That might be a small consolation prize .
