Staying near 635/75 next week. Are 4 Bullets & Bitter Sisters breweries worth a visit? Also would appreciate a few recs for a good beer bar in the area to sample local beers - my last visit was over a year ago & things have seemingly exploded since then.

    Thx in advance.

I'd say it depends on what you like.

I like Four Bullets but I love simple English style beers. I've only tried them once because I don't live nearby but I liked the standard strength beers they had. (Red Ale, Bitter, and the like)

I haven't had much of Bitter Sisters. Their Märzen I find to sweet and caramelly. And their blond not interesting enough compared to other similar options here. I prefer lower ABV so I haven't tried their 8% red ale.

I preferred Oak Highlands over Bitter Sisters, their styles are comparable I think.

If you're going to be in the 635/75 area I'd say go over to Lakewood Brewing for some samples, since it's only 5-10 miles at most. I've always had decent luck over at the Libertine Bar for some of the local stuff, and Trinity Beer Hall (Irish Pub) is always a go to for me when I'm down there. If you're looking for a bar with a sizable selection of both local/national the Flying Saucer in Addison would be a good bet for something close to that area.
