Looking for some recommendations of local brews to search out when I come to the Suwanee, GA area next weekend. Also looking for recommendations for local bars that serve craft beer and distributors that have nice selections

Suwanee is a bit of a beer desert but there's a few places you can drive to. Highly suggest Cherry Street brewing Co-Op in Cumming, they just opened a taproom and are doing great beers overall. They're attached to a Tanner's if you're hungry too. Further intown but not as far as Atlanta you can go to Hop Alley in Alpharetta, it's a brewpub about two years old. Beers won't blow you away but the food and guest taplist are good. Not sure about bars in the far North area, maybe some others will chime in.

Thank you for the info. We are actually staying in Cumming so we will definitely check out Cherry Street

Southern Filling station in Cumming has great growler selection & cheapest growler prices. Jax Liquor Store has decent bottle selection too. Bottles/growler fills I would look for would be anything from Burnt Hickory Brewing (brewed in Kennesaw, Ga), everything they make is fantastic, shouldn't be hard to find their pale ale, ipa, or stout. Depending on what you like there are lots of good local options that are pretty easy to find. 3 taverns does a good Belgian (Quasimodo Quad is my fav), Wild Heaven does English & Belgian styles pretty well (Eschaton quad & Ode to Mercy brown ale), Orpheus does saisons & sours (should be able to find cans pretty easy of Lyric Ale & Atalanta), Sweetwater's Hop Hash IPA is becoming one of my go to beers & is easy to come across, there are lots of others. If you tell me a specific style you might be looking for I might be more help. Cool things that are not local thst are fairly new to GA that I'm psyched about (and I don't think are available in PA) are stuff from Ballast Point (Sculpin!), Prairie (Bomb!!), and Crooked Stave.

Thanks kizyle! I'm definitely checking out Southern Filling Station (hopefully Friday from 4-7 for sampling special). I will look for stuff at Jax to bring home. I appreciate the suggestions.

Take a trip to Ale Yeah! in Roswell. Excellent bottle shop not too far from Cumming. Nice spot for local growlers as well. Russ can tell you anything you want to know about pretty much everything on the shelves.

If you make it downtown try to hit Hop City. Vast bottle and tap selection.

You should also check out Jekyll and take one of their tours if you have time. They are not far from you in Alpharetta

Rosati's Pizza in Cumming will be close by to you. Their tap list is solid.

I would add 5 Seasons Brewing in Alpharetta to that list . Decent beer and good food.
