Planning an overnight stop in Omaha with brewery stops as the main goal. Got my Craft Beer passport and I'm probably looking at hitting up four, maybe five breweries. Which are the can't miss breweries and also where's the best place for dinner? Upstream has always been a place we stopped at for dinner but their beer is usually just mediocre even though they have pretty good food. No specific area in mind, I'll travel wherever the good stuff is.
Also is there any good beer to pick up in stores that I can't get in Iowa? Now that Odell's is available in Iowa I'm not sure if there are any breweries that distribute in NE that don't in IA.
Farnam House Brewing and Scriptown Brewery are really close to each other, and both worth hitting up. Beertopia in between them if you are looking for some bottles. Upstream is decent, downtown location has better beer IMO. However, I prefer Benson Brewery for beer+food options, plus a decent selection of bars in that area also. Cheers!
Definitely hit Brickway in the Old Market as well. It is right around the corner from Upstream. As others said Farnam House is a must stop. You have to stop at Beertopia next door; awesome guys, pretty great prices too.
