Heard a rumor that Ocean sun Brewing is going to be closing. High rent, slowing sales, lack of marketing.

    Unfortunately this isn't surprising.

Note to self for future visits to Ellipsis: check the price of small pours before getting a flight (or 3). $1/oz adds up quickly for 12 pours.

Yeah some of the small pours make no sense. At least they have all the pricing on the untapped menu tv. I think the barley wine Wilfred was $6.75 for a small pour.
    Hopefully you like the beer

I enjoyed most of the beer, but it would have been helpful if someone had pointed out I’d be paying $14-16 for a flight of 4oz pours. While I suppose it’s on me for not checking the price of each pour ahead of time it’s still a very steep price.

Lots of brewery moves in Orlando the past week or 2.
Horace from Ten10 is now the head brewer at Blue Springs Brewing in Orange City
Amanda from Red Cypress was just announced as HB at Ivanhoe Park
Kent From Brew Theory is now at Castle Church
New owner at Red Cypress is looking for a HB--- I hope they change the name as I think keeping the same will not help them much.

Rumor has it that Twelve Talons purchased the brewing equipment from Ocean Sun since they are closing (no official announcement yet) . So look for them to start building out a location soon.

OCB Lake Mary is now open. They took on a new investor. Total Beverage, they have opened or run close to 75 brewpubs around the world. They are doing the OCB at thevairport too.

Lk mary has food and full liquor. Right now all beer is made at Brew Theory but they will start Brewing in about a month at this location. They will be bringing in brewers from Germany. Denmark and India.

Going to reserve judgment until they are making their own bee .

Same ownership group i think. They just picked up the guys from Total Beverage with extra money to spend. I believe TB is the group that was always involved with the terminal C OCB thRs going to open.

At Blue Springs right now. Awesome space. They did well. Food looks good. I had tacos and they were tasty. Only 2 house beers so far. The IPA is pretty good, cream ale seemed a little bitter for the style, but not judging beer yet.

Great thread with lots of information. Flying into MCO and then heading out to the Lake Buena Vista (LBV) area. Won't have a car. From what I gather the better breweries down there are :

Redlight Redlight (RR) - 30 mins from MCO and further from LBV.
Ten10 - Similar in distance to RR.
Sideward - 20 mins from MCO and further from LBV.
Ellipsis - 5 mins from MCO

From what I read about these it doesn't seem like they justify a 30 minute Uber ride to check out, save maybe for Ellipsis since it's so close. Problem is I'll be landing at 10am or so ... would mean I'd have to take a 25-minute Uber from LBV.

I guess it makes sense to just hit up the Publix in LBV and hang out at the hotel pool for the day ... am I missing anything?

Ellipsis opens at 1pm. So you could land take an uber 5 minutes to a restaurant close by. Rock and Brews has a really good tap list. Then Uber to Ellipsis another 3 minutes. If you get there early and the rolling doors are up in back they are usually more than happy to chat and show you around.

Hit up Half Barrel Beer project. It's a bottle shop/small brewery. It should be somewhat close to where you'll be.
