    Greetings!

I'll be staying at the Sheraton Lake Buena Vista on Vineland Rd the second week of April. I'd greatly appreciate it if someone could hook me up with a good bottle shop in the area. I'd also be grateful for any brewery recommendations. Thanks in advance!

I did. I was hoping someone familiar with the adjacent area would provide some suggestions.

Half Barrel is your best bet, they brew extremely small batches there, but they generally have a very good tap list as well as a few to go bottles/cans. They are on untappd if you want to scope it out beforehand, but it’s a good little spot.

You’ll have an ABC near you, it’s decent, I’ve found some good stuff before but it never consistent. If your flying in stop by Ellipsis, 5 minutes from the airport and they do crowlers. Also have a double bottle release coming up just not sure on the date yet.

There is a World of Beer on University. Good food and a decent selection of local beer. Also Shamrock Liquors. Lots of food options around there. No breweries though.

Red Cypress isn’t far from UCF area but I guess you could say that about a couple others as well. Public House is next to Shamrock and always had a good selection. Haven’t been there in a while though.

The Pseudo Sue keg delivered to the local bar was over 90 days old. He returned it.

Made it to Public House and had an excellent experience. Chill vibe with a very nice and knowledgable bartender. My fave was easily Elllipsis Brewing "Y Can't IBU" Pale Ale. Really a delicious fresh hoppy local canned beer! Thanks to you both for your responses! Much appreciated!

Not from the area, but I've done this search myself. Your hotel has an ABC like a block away, which is usually OK, especially for Funky Buddha stuff. But where you really want to go is Knightly OBT. They have a TON of beer, and not just local stuff either, some breweries I didn't even know distributed in FL. Last time I was there, they had stuff from Prairie, Jackie O's, Grimm, Crooked Stave, Untitled Art, and many others, along with the typical local like Cigar City, Funky Buddha, and others. I spent like a half hour negotiating with myself over what I could fit in my suitcase.

    Isn't Why Can't IBU a Stillwater beer?

Why Can’t IBU is a popular name that a few different breweries use, but he undoubtedly had the Ellipsis beer Y Can’t IBU that is brewed in Orlando.

Celery City had some kegs and some cans where in the 2 month old range. Were still fantastic. Tried can and draft of PS and they were both reallly good. Had a can Pompeii was fabulous.

Knightly is on my list and it looks to be an easy commute. Thanks for confirming!

    UPDATES!!

Oviedo Brewing is open and from what I heard the beer is decent and the food is good.

Black Cauldron is no longer sharing space with Broken Strings. BC is still around and will be making announcement regarding their future soon.

We have a new Gypsy Brewer in town, brewing out of Broken Strings. Twelve Talons Beerworks. Do not know much about them as of yet.

Rock Pit is open and killing it.
Sideward Brewing is open as well and smashing it.

Thank you guys for this thread, appreciate all the suggestions! Thankfully I won't be drinking any of your Toppling Goliath, I'm lucky to get all I can handle here in Iowa.

I'll be down there late next week to do the whole Universal/Disney thing. I'm hoping to hit up Sideward and Ellipsis!

I think I am correct in that Knightly OBT is the Knightly Spirits? Their website is crap...

Yes, Knightly Spirits. They have several locations, and OBT is the Orange Blossom Trail location.

Your going to drive right by RockPit brewing if you are going to Sideward. Worth the stop.
