For those of you that are pretty active here I want to pick you brain. What do you think are the top 5 breweries in Orlando area?
    1-Ellipsis Brewing
    2-RockPit Brewing
    3-Tactical Brewing.
    4-Ten10 Brewing
    5-Deviant Wolf

Lots of places could have been in the 4th and 5th places. Plus this is an opinion.

I have an affinity for ten10 and hourglass.

But it has more to do with people that work there than anything else.

Although I really hope ten10 releases all those stouts they did for their anniversary last year. They were excellent.

I also think that area of ten10 gb bottle shop and short drive to Redlight is a great beer centric area for Orlando

Ellipsis then a bunch of places I wouldn’t tell anyone they absolutely must check out.

I like Ten10 and Deviant Wolfe, but they also have a lot of misses.

Rock Pit I’m really hoping dials it in. Been twice and haven’t been impressed by the beer yet, but I love the space and the people working there.

Tactical has been a great stop the couple of times I’ve been there, but I haven’t tried enough of their beer to say it’s a must hit. The IPAs are a notch below Ellipsis and the stouts I’ve had were white stouts or chai tea which were good, but I’d like to try a traditional stout.

Did anyone make it to Sideward on Saturday? Is their beer actually good? I don’t know anything about them besides the ridiculous hype that swept the area last weekend. Gonna try and make it over this weekend.

I went to sideward during soft opening. They didn't have a full selection of beers but thought the neipa was good.

I think many in the area personally know a few of the people running the show....I feel that contributes to a decent portion of the excitement for the brewery.

I'm wanting to try the stout. As that's more my speed anyway.

! had 5 of the cans.
The Mt Dew Berliner Gnar, was just a lime Berliner, was decent but glad I didn't buy a 4 pk.
    The Yacht Money was good,
Space Camp was a malty mess
Nocturnal Liar was a pretty good adjunct stout.
Kozar was run of the mill, not bad not good, It is was on a menu a may give it another chance.

This was definitely a hype machine grand opening. We shall see how they play out.

Everything I have had from RockPit has been solid. Even at fest before they opened.

    Citra - Nelson good
    Yacht money good
    Nocturnal good

The company they hired to do branding and social media marketing definitely helped create a good buzz and honestly it looks good. Their location definitely is a big plus

I think Ellipsis has the most promise of the breweries around here. I’ve been many times and a lot of their stuff is good but not great. The two BA stouts released this weekend definitely upped my opinion of them though, as they were quite impressive.

I’m sure I’m in the minority here but I have never been impressed with Ten10. Been a number of times and have only enjoyed 1-2 of their adjunct Imperial Stouts. Can’t remember the names of the beers.

I did not try any of the beers at the Sideward release but did split all the 4 packs with a buddy, outside of the Cider. The NEIPA was quite good, the other two hoppy beers were solid but nothing outstanding. I did like the Stout although it was a little on the roasty side for my taste. Wasn’t a huge fan of the Berliner. I liked a lot of the stuff Garrett did at Red Cypress. Most of his beers are definitely good representatives of the style but you really have to push boundaries to stand out nowadays.

I have enjoyed Tactical the few times I have been but I wouldn’t go out of my way to drink their beer. I find that is the case with almost all of the breweries in Orlando. Being from this city and living here all my life I make brewery plans based on where my wife and I want to eat and not the other way around.

Did not enjoy Deviant Wolfe. Haven’t tried Rockpit. Hourglass is getting better but still a lot of misses. I think Red Cypress is going to miss Garrett. Sanford Brewing has good food, enough said. Oviedo Brewing is going to suck. Let me know if I missed any and I’ll be happy to comment.

It's just stinks that so many places are opening around here and yet so many are misses and only a handful are decent to good.

Me and a mate are visiting this weekend, so it sounds like a Ellipsis is the place to go to, right? Any places that do cask ales down there? Cheers

If you are flying in ellipsis will be easy to visit.

If not Redlight Redlight. Ten10. Gb bottle shop. Sideward might be a good way to pack in a few places that aren't that far apart.

I’ve seen Cigar City Jai Alai selling for $9.75 per can in a few places. Obviously it’s very marked up but out of interest, how much do they sell for per can out of the brewery?

Any local store or supermarket (Publix) near Disney will have a few CCB beers in stock at decent prices. Hell the Uber to the store will still save you money compared to buying it on site.

Was down there last year in the Champions Gate area, hard for me to get too far away without the fam. There was basically nothing there. In a stunning twist of fate, we are coming back this year! In August, when it's 1000 degrees. Anything worth checking out near CG? Or basically still just whatever Publix has?

Still nothing in the way of breweries. Not sure about good bars or bottle shops. You are about 25 miles from Ellipsis. if you venture to I-Drive there is Half Barrel Beer project. usually has a good tap list.
Unfortunately, where you stay is just a tourist Mecca and not may breweries want to to try and survive on them.

Last time I was there, I got a 4pk of Last Snow at Publix. They had a ton.

Since Funky Buddah was sold to Constellation they have been pumping out beer and in distro all over FL. Quality has gone down. If you see Hawaiian Lion by Big Top Brewing grab it its much better than Last Snow. Usually on sale at ABC, maybe publix liquor store.
