Visiting Philly

Hey guys - few more questions. Also heading down there today. Was going to do Monk’s but seems like a lot of the stuff I wanted to try kicked last night. Now I’m rethinking my plan and looking for something with an outdoor space.

Does Tired Hands Fermentaria have an outdoor area? I’ve been a few times but always in the winter.

Ideally I’m looking for something that also has food and not too far from The Met (going to a show there tonight). Tired Hands would work as it’s on the way from NJ.

Might do Evil Genius as suggested but will need to find a food option after too. Anything around there?

 

The tired hands beer garden in fishtown sells cans to go and draft.
Andy's fried chicken and Loco Pez tacos are right there and can be brought in. There is also Memphis taproom right there with a covered patio basically. Ardmore (the fermentatia) is West of Philly so I'm not sure how you're coming that it would be convenient and on the way off hand.

 

If you want an outdoor space and Tired Hands I would recommend the Biergarten. It also has some of Philly's best food options nearby. It's close to Evil Genius, but far better in terms of beer options (and has some fantastic bars nearby -- Bottle Bar East, Interstate, and Goose Island... would be a little but of a shame to come to Philly and visit Goose Island, but I do have to hand it to their outdoor setting).

If you go to the Ferm/Cafe the atmosphere is great but you're limiting yourself pretty strictly to Tired Hands fare. There isn't much more to speak of in Ardmore, and it's a little out of the way.

If you'd like some Fishtown food recommendations you'll have to narrow down what you're looking for because there's plenty of possibilities.

You'll have to take a look and see what you want. Some are take out on that list and some sit down that may be able to get away with not having a res if you're one person or two.

 

There's a very wide variety of great food options in the neighborhood, so you're going to have to narrow what you're looking for.

Looking for strictly the best food option (for a place you might not be able to get into without a lot of luck)? Suraya, Lebanese.

Looking for comfort food and a decent tap list with manageable prices? Memphis Taproom, Interstate Draft House.

Ramen or Asian fusion? Cheu, or Stock.

Some other random highlights: Lloyd, Fette Sau, Sancho Pistola's, Standard Tap.
