I've been to HotD and Cascade a million times, just looking for hot stuff on tap (why we're going to Apex) right now and maybe some fun bottles to take back with me (assuming there are no De Garde or Block 15 goodies floating around). Never been to Breakside, so we'll probably swing by before hitting the road.

And yeah, @John_M, tomorrow is a holiday for me too.

Well, too bad you will be leaving at 5 because Upright will be open at 6 because of the Blazers game

You wont find any block 15 or de garde bottles floating around. Sticky hands has gone and left this month in bottles - but you might be able to find it on tap (Baileys had it on last time i checked).

If you haven't experienced the Glueh Kriek (a warm cherry sour ale) at Cascade then I would make it an appoint to do that. They make it every winter and is the perfect cold whether beer. It changed my view of beer forever.

Other than that, Breakside is a good choice.

I actually had Glueh Kriek last December at Cascade. It was pretty damn good.

I figured B15 and DG would be long gone, but never hurts to ask.

Yeah, I saw that. Gotta work on Wednesday. If I hadn't been to Upright before I'd be sad, but I have so it's ok.

What time are you getting down to PDX on Tuesday? There is still plenty of B15 Sticky Hands down here in Eugene, if that's what you're hoping to find.

I'd love some Sticky Hands. We should be in Portland around 11am or so.

I'm guessing you got some Cowiche while you were here. KDS maybe? Not sure if timing wise it would even work out.

Got some KDS and sisters, but not Cowiche.

If you're fairly sure you'll be in town by 11:00, and if you have an idea where you'll be around then, I can bring you a bottle or two of Sticky Hands. That should still leave me plenty of time for the leaf raking marathon I have planned at home later that afternoon. :-)

    And 9-close.

You can also add Ranger Station at 43rd and Hawthorne to the "Stumble Zone." 8 craft taps if I recall correctly. Nothing mind blowing, but solid. It's a decent little neighborhood spot that's still getting its legs under it. Good tunes if you're into bluegrass/roots rock/hippieshit. The owner seems like a nice guy too.

Thanks for reminding me that I need to go check that place out. I was never a fan of the bar that used to occupy that spot, and I was happy to see something new go in, but I always seem to find myself walking by in the afternoon before they're open.

Cascade has blown my mind many times. I love Glueh Kriek too. Sang Noir at the Holiday Ale Fest several years ago was my first world-spinning beer. Their Oblique Black & White Blonde Stout is also something wholly unique unto itself.

    Downside: Cascade is expensive.

Anyone know of any events going on over Thanksgiving weekend? I'll be in town from Thursday to Sunday, likely spending Friday and Saturday cruising around to breweries/pubs.

Not shure about any events, but if you would like company to do pub crawl do let me know, we live in NW part of town and like to walk to & from brewery/brewpub as much as we can!
    Cheers and all the best.

IF the truck from Chicago gets here in time I'm sure there will be a few BCBS related Black Friday things going on. On the other end of the (flavor and cost) spectrum, De Garde will be doing 2 Portland releases that day as well.

Thank you for the info. If you don't mind me asking, where are the De Garde releases? I only see their Tillamook release posted.

I'm not sure any specific place was mentioned, just the following:

"We ARE gearing up for a few items that should be available to darn near every bar and bottle shop interested.
As our foeders come into maturity, we are packaging them into 22oz bottles at a MUCH lower price point.
Next week, we are sending 625 cases each of the first foeder beers, Bu Weisse and Petit Desay, to our distributor. In line with that, we are working out the details for several release events featuring a number of our taps, plus the first access to the new bottles. Portland will be on Black Friday, and we're looking to be in Eugene the next day."

From past experience, I would expect Belmont Station will be one of the major participants. Or if you want to come down to Eugene, I'm virtually certain he's talking about 16 tons and Bier Stein.

Yup. Unless there's some last minute changes I'm unaware of there will be one at the Station and one up at Tin Bucket. I don't recall if Trevor mentioned where in Eugene, but I suspect you're right that 16 Tons and/or The Bier Stein are the most likely suspects.

What's the deal with Logsdon being closed? Is this permanent? I can't find anything online.
