Ordnance Brewing's Wilsonville outpost is 12-15 minutes away depending on traffic.

Thought about going to B2, but the traffic was getting thick. Stopped at Vagabond instead. Nice little brewery.

I think they are becoming my favorite Salem brewery. Love their space.

Visiting Portland in a few weeks to look at colleges with my daughter. Definitely want to hit up Great Notion, one of my faves at last GABF. I see they have a lot of crowler releases - can you always get crowlers of what they have on tap or only at the releases and how quick do the releases sell out?
Also, any recommendations for food/beer in Eugene?

Regarding crowlers, they'll typically announce a day that crowlers for a certain beer will be available. They'll set a limit, usually 2pp for that day, then 1pp for each day after until it's gone. How quickly it sells out varies by beer. There's usually at least 1 beer available for crowlers at any given time, and sometimes quite a few.

Great Notion uses Untappd for their beer menu system, and along with pricing they note which beers are available for crowlers. It's a crap shoot but there's normally something available.

Heading to Portland in June with my wife for the first time. This thread has been great and look forward to the update!

Looking forward to my upcoming visit. I have the impression that crowlers are plentiful? Should I even bother packing any growlers for some fills to return with?

Id personally save the space/weight and risk of glass breakages. So many places with a wide variety of beers for crowler fills.

Haven't been to downtown in a bit, going to hit up places like Cascade and Commons most likely, but curious if there's any quality beer bars/breweries that also have decent options for non beer lovers? Particularly, a place with decent cocktails?

Wayfinder Beer is a new spot that comes to mind. Full bar, good food, great outdoor space if weather cooperates.

Lardo, Bunk, and Double Dragon are all in that general vicinity and have good beer lists (and in Lardo's case usually a very good/great list) and cocktails. Most of the restaurants in the beer-centric restaurants list in the OP also serve cocktails. I believe the only exception is Cheese Bar, IIRC.

No joke. I found this list. I'm sure most of you are familiar with the beer guides, but for others like myself who are visiting here's yet another rabbit hole to fall deep into:

so just so I understand, they are no longer going to make any of these beers?? even on tap?? that sucks if true. 4-7 are some of my favorite beers, and at $8 or $9, a damn good deal

Yep. They're gone. Whole Foods in the Pearl has bottles of 5 and 7. McMemamins on 23rd has 4 on sale. Both have Billy the Mountain. Get 'em while you can.

The wife and I have had a great time in the NE on our honeymoon, but damn if it won't be good to come home. Lot of good beer here for sure, but I'm getting so tired of paying $6 or $7 for a 12 to 16 ounce glass of middle of the road IPA (no matter how hazy the beers are).

It's fun to travel and see new things... but at the end of the day, traveling outside the NW is always a vivid reminder of just how good we have it here in the NW. I'm sure there are better places to live, and as soon as I discover them, I'll be sure to report back in.

    Don't hold your breath...

By any wild chance is there a place at PDX to buy a wine/beer shipper box pre-security? Thanks!
