    I'll be visiting Richmond for 1 day/night.

Where is the best place to stay in relation to breweries and beer bars?

Any recommendations on what breweries / bars to prioritize?

    Thanks!

The best straight up beer bar in the area is Mekong, and very close by is Strangeways brewing, so that would be a good spot. But its out in a not-so-charming area (not dangerous or anything, just blah) so if that's important to you then there are other options downtown. Out near Mekong will be cheaper though, too.

Hardywood Brewery has a lot of great beers and is right near down town Richmond, it is pretty close to Mekong too. Mekong has a great tap list and pretty good vietnamese food. Center of the Universe Brewing Company is just up I-95 about 15 miles from the city too and they have great beers.

I was in Richmond about 2 weeks ago. Stopped @ some bottle shop and then Total Wine. TW had about 4-5 bottles of Black Note. I am sure they are gone, but who knows. Didn't pick any up myself. Probably should have, but didn't.

Dont forget about south side. Midlothian area has Extra Billys and hotels are a little more reputable in that area than near Mekong. Its not tough to get to Mekong from there either, maybe 20 minutes.
