Greetings beer lovers! I'm visiting Southern Missouri this upcoming weekend and am wondering if you have any suggestions for local favorites and must-try beers to seek out. We're staying in Eureka Springs, AR but will be buying our alcohol in MO. I like big beers (Hopslam, Green Flash Trippel, Little Sumpin' Extra, Old Rasputin, Southern Tier Crème Brule, etc.) with high alcohol/flavor, but also don't want to get the "ol' stank eye" from the Mrs. about how much I'm spending on beer. Can you help a brother out? Thanks!!! ;^) Scott
I was down in eureka springs this summer, pretty disappointing beer list. You might be able to find some Mothers brewing around Springfield, or if you go to Rogers AR, you should be able to find Prairie m
Not sure exactly where you're headed, but the best beer store in the area (that I've seen) is http://macadoodles.com/ I went to the Branson store last fall and they had a very nice selection and a very clean, modern store. They also had a lot of liquor and wine sampling. I did find a few gems, as it seems the local population isn't terribly BA-heavy, but they also said quite a few of their limited offerings do go pretty fast.
There is one in Joplin MO, and I have enjoyed it's selection when I was there. Where are you staying in Eureka? The Crescent is pretty awesome. Be sure to do the ghost tour. It WILL F*** you up.
Mother's Bourbon barrel aged Imperial three blind mice is out, pick up a bottle or two. Macadoodles or Brown Derby International wine center will have the best selection in Springfield MO
Outstanding everyone! Thank you for the tips! Macadoodles by Bella Vista was really good for finding some treasures not available in Wisco. With the help of the beer ratings, I grabbed a couple dipas that should be stellar. Oh, and we would try the ghost tour, but the therapy bills for my kiddos at 5 and 8 might cut into my beer fund. Thanks again everyone and if you're ever up near Oshkosh WI, message me, and I'll be glad to hook you up.
