To follow up on what pwsoilder said, Freetail doesn't have a "tasting room." They're a brewpub so it's a bar and restaurant. They do sell bottles, but they are for off-premise consumption only. Yes they do allow small bottle shares occasionally, but you have to get clearance from Scott because I think its technically illegal and he doesn't want it to happen when they're busy so people don't think BYOB is allowed.

I'm heading to SA this weekend. Is Freetail kid friendly on Friday evenings/nights?

Yes their website list what they have available right now. You can also get growlers if you're into that kind of thing

Yes, they typically have just a few to-go choices in my experience. I think their website lists any bottles available, and I assume it is fairly accurate

    Edit: What he said ^^

Do places typically fill blank growlers?

Whole Foods close to Freetail and Big Hops a few miles away on Huebner both fill growlers. In addition to Freetail, they have all filled blank growlers for me.

everywhere I've gotten growler fills in SA will fill any growler, labeled (with any brewery name on it) or unlabeled

That's unheard of here in CA, so it's gonna feel weird the first time I get one filled. Looking forward to it!

The only place I know of in SA that has any sort of growler restrictions is Whole Foods, and their only rule is that it must have the SG warning.

I'm also in San Antonio this week for a conference at La Cantera. Assuming Wine Barrel Noir is still around on Friday, I should have some time to check out a couple shops to try to pick up a bottle or two. Anyone have any recommendaitons on where to check near here? Planning on stopping by Freetail for lunch on the way out of town. Thanks!

Gabriel's Superstore on 1604 and blanco. That place has some old beer on the shelf. But shouldn't be hard to get a Noir.

I'd try Specs at DeZavala first... great selection and tends to be cheaper, but everything sells out faster there (or so I think).
