keep in mind, Bottlecraft will not let your 2 y/o in. The one in Little Italy shut me and my kid down.

    Liberty Station Bottlecraft is fine.

Yes, due to all of the food around there the child can sit within the area that is technically Bottlecraft, obviously not at the bar though. Although I have seen most kids prefer to play on the tractor outside and been a little envious and also wanted to sit on the tractor drinking my beer. Sometimes it sucks to be an adult.

I will only have a full 24 hours in San Diego December 10th. What are 1-2 breweries that are must go? One brewery I think I have already mentally prepped for is Modern Times but I am open to other suggestions. Usually when I check out a new city I like to go to beer bars to get a one stop shop of what is offered locally. I know there are a ton of good ones in SD per the list provided on page one.

    Thanks in advance!

Just hit up that 30th street section so that you can use that prep for Modern Times Flavordome and then you are near Rip Current North Park Brew Co, then hop on over to Toronado or else a bit more south to Hamilton's...then you should be fine.

Thanks for all the recs dudes. Sd is an amazing place. Too much beer, too little time. My wallet is hurting after trips to modern times, stone, and societe. Alesmith tomorrow. I could live here.

As I said in the SD Beer week thread, you should hit MIkkeller if you go to Alesmith tomorrow. Or at least stop in to see if the triple coffee brunch weasel is still on. It isn't very far and that beer is amazing. I'm going to stop by today to see if I can still get some.

By the way, I asked today at Mikkeller and they may not have much that survives to tomorrow for the triple coffee brunch. Though it can't hurt to check.

    Thanks for all the suggestions

Hit alesmith and mikkeller tonight. Amazing experience at both.

Highlights at alesmith were ba viet ss obviously but I actually like reforged 21 the best. That is an incredibly drinkable blended beer. Liked coffee cake ss as well. Tasted exactly as named. Bought way too many bottles to go but couldn't pass them up.

At mikkeller I got to hang with one of the head brewers from alesmith and tried several beers including his recipe for the heaven hill ba new old ale which was incredible. Also loved the ba brunch, the green coffee bean stout, the mead, and the ba trippel.

    My wallet is destroyed.

Thanks San Diego. Everyone at ever brewery could not have been more nice.

Having a blast here so far, did the Grand Prix but I think anvil and stave took the cake. Velvet echo and BAVSS were killer! Think I'm going to hit Rip Current and Modern Times this afternoon and finish the day with Oscars tacos.

I'm staying at the Horton in gaslamp, would neighborhood be my best option for a great taplist? Also, best options for IPAs near me? I have enough stouts to kill an elephant at the moment

Neighborhood is often recommended to me. I haven't been. Also you could potentially make it down to half door or up to resident inside the Local. Half door has a ton of beers on tap all house beers and food.

Oh man thanks for the suggestions! I think I am going to target North Park. I have a reservation at Ironside Fish & Oyster in the evening which is right by our hotel. What is the weather like in San Diego in the beginning of December?

Pretty much what it is like right now.... mid 60s -> 70s although it can drop to a super cold 50s at night requiring the thickest of jackets.

Usually no wind. It can get a tad bit dry.

If you are near downtown, Resident Brewing/The Local is a must stop.

Second this. Resident is killing it. Also Half Door I hear is doing awesome stuff downtown, but i haven't been there in quite a while. They have been exploring a lot of modern styles.

But yeah often in years past December got SD cold at night and down to 50s. It feels colder though because it is dry here.

And for the best hole in the wall Mexican in downtown SD hit up Oscar's though they have a few locations around town including Pacific Beach and Hillcrest.
