2. Drink beer at Cellarmaker, The Rare Barrel, Faction, Drakes
3. Buy and drink beer at Toronado, City Beer, Trappist

 

Cellarmaker for sure! Also, if you have a car, force yourself to make the drive an hour north to Russian River. It's well worth it.

 

Mikkeller Bar SF (downstairs sour room), Cellarmaker, Abbot's Cellar and if you're feeling adventurous, Sante Adairius in Capitola. It's about a 1.5 hour drive south of SF.

 

Find a native-local (probably a bartender at Toronado) and tell them how much you are enjoying your visit to "San Fran" or better yet "Frisco". They always love that

 

Great time to be visiting with Cellarmaker busting out a real solid taplist this week heading into a new pale and ipa next week. Toronado Anniversary is 8/9. City Beer Store has 3 Alpine on tap right now.

im currently visiting my family here in the bay from san diego, and have discussed it with both friends and family that this myth is bullcrap. ive lived in the bay area for 20 years and have never heard or seen anyone(in the city or out) get bothered by use of frisco or san fran. i say it all the time, a few of my friends that live in SF that were at a wedding with me yesterday said the same, one of them grew up in SF and calls it san fran all the time!

 

I grew up in the Bay Area and both terms are like tinfoil on fillings.

 

Go eat at Nopalito and drink from their solid craft beer selections.

 

I, too, am visiting SF this week! Appreciate the advice!

 

Don't forget to bring your credit card to Toronado. They just switched to Square, so they are only accepting plastic.

 

The city will be flooded with chemistry geeks next week.
