Visiting San Francisco July 2014--any recommendations?

    Hi,

    I'm visiting San Francisco for the first time in later July and wanted to know if anyone had recommendations for good beer I can find and take back with me? I live in New York City. I'm newer-ish to the beer scene, but am very interested in sours. I hear Almanac has a lot of good ones?

    Does anyone have recommendations for beers/stores/places to see while I'm in San Francisco?

    Cellarmaker is a very cool brewery, and it's right around the corner from City Beer Store (great bottle shop/bar). I also recommend Mikkeller Bar, it's pretty pricey though.

    I have never been to Cellarmaker myself but have a buddy who sends me growlers regularly, exceptionally excellent beer. I would certainly stop there.

    Toronado is a must visit if you are in the city! Great beer on tap with reasonable prices and an awesome bottle list. Cash only so be ready.

    Mikkeller bar and the Monk's kettle. I would venture out to Oakland as well. Both Beer Revolution and The Trappist are a couple blocks away from each other, and both excellent. Also, I don't know if you have the means or time, but you're about an hour away from arguably the greatest sours in existence, RR. Supplication will show up in some bottle shops occasionally though.

    They are readily available in the better bottle shops around the city. In the last week or two I have seen Farmers Reserve Citrus, Farmers Reserve Blackberry, Dogpatch Sour, and Dogpatch Strawberry.
