I might be Instagram illiterate, but when I visit it here, the most recent tap list posting I see is from over a month ago. If there is something more recent, am I missing how to filter for it? (I don't have an Instagram account, and I think I'm social media-maxed out between Facebook and Twitter, so I'm reluctant to sign up.)

Looks like they got lazy over the holidays. Looking at Untappd they’ve got E9, Cloudburst, Holy Mountain, Culimination, Garden Path, etc. on tap right now. And there’s always Rainier.

I had a Schlenkerla Rauch Helles, then a Cloudburst When It's Time to Party IPA, and a Holy Mountain Crystal Ship saison. Grabbed some wings from around the corner, too.

It was a good night! Cheers for the recommendation, BuckeyeOne!

Lol, so someone says they can't find the de Garde or Block 15 thread (re: the upcoming collab), and what happened, Todd deleted the entire thread? Cool :sunglasses:

Edit: Posting this here cuz I literally have no fuggin' clue where things are supposed to be posted anymore...

Putting this in the Seattle thread was a pro troll move.:joy::rofl:

Everyone have fun at the HM Anniversary party this weekend, too many things have decided to occur tomorrow and Saturday, so I'll happily stop in on Monday and drink whatever is left over.

Those crazy ass cost cutting measures. Can't have threads that aren't clearly labeled and about something specific.

I'm pretty sure the prior thread was closed due to complaints about moderation/moderators (this is prohibited under the BA Code of Conduct), not because of the topic.

Just my two cents, but here it is anyway.

The reasons for going to a yearly brewery/city visitation thread (as opposed to monthly/quarterly) are laid out here:

    https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...rterly-threads-will-be-annual-in-2019.600782/

    Just to amplify/clarify a bit:

As Todd mentioned, this was a topic that was discussed back in the Spring of 2017, to address what was becoming an increasing problem in some of the more active regions (which the NW definitely is not). In the NW, we have a couple of pretty active brewery threads (Holy Mountain and Fremont, and I guess to a lesser extent Great Notion), as well as a couple of active "visiting city X" threads. Compare that to the Pacific and or New England. Both regions have literally dozens of active brewery threads (along with various semi-permanent visiting "city/area X" threads) that were getting renewed every month or quarter. It had reached the point that if you checked the front page of the Pacific and NE forum page, you literally saw nothing other than monthly "brewery X" posts/threads. It was clearly stifling any other discussion or commentary in those regional forums. Most of those monthly posts were just a regurgitation of the previous month's post, with maybe an update about tasting room hours and expected new releases (the sort of thing that could easily be addressed in a separate post). To add to the problem (in my mind), is that we were starting to see "thread sheriff's." The members responsible for creating these threads started to feel a proprietary interest in their handy work, and it was starting to cause some animosity (hostility towards the "sheriff," and complaints/reports of trolling and infractions by the thread creator).

To be honest, I really didn't think there would be much of a reaction from the NW members, as the "new model" is what we've had for some time now. We don't have any monthly or quarterly brewery threads, and I figured the caretakers of the Portland and Seattle threads would appreciate the fact that they only have to update the original post annually rather than quarterly. Additions or deletions to the best beer bars, restaurants, breweries, etc., can be handled by any BA moderator, but probably wouldn't be necessary more than a couple of times a year. So not a big deal.

That's all. And yeah, I guess I will go ahead and close the old Fremont and Holy Mountain threads, as I should have done some time ago I suppose. Mea Culpa for not attending to this sooner. I'll go ahead and restart a new thread right away for both breweries, as clearly there continues to be (and likely always will be) considerable interest in both breweries.

Oddly enough, like OP, I couldn't find the de Garde or B15 threads. Still can't. And I can't find OP's thread either. Hell, now I can't even recall who OP was. And there's no Oregon thread.:joy::rofl:

I guess if others don't find this a bit perplexing, I'll show myself out. Definitely not trolling.

EDIT: Ok, I found the Block 15 thread, but, it's not locked. I feel like it should be locked asap, for cost savings.

Can't a mod just delete individual replies, rather than nuking the entire thread? Hopefully someone at least help OP find the proper place to share the info they wanted to share... :shruggie:

Yep, he could have, but that's the only explanation I could come up with. Cheers!

Would it be possible to just have a "NW News" thread? Not everything fits nicely into a brewery only or visiting certain city thread.

Can't see why not. I think there are currently fairly comparable threads in other regions. Didn't Terry (@beertunes) start something similar a year or two back in fact?

I don't specifically remember that, but, it does ring a bell. IIRC, it got shut down for not being "specific" enough. But, I could be confusing shit. My thought process isn't the best right now. Shrug.

John, thanks for the thoughtful explanation. We can still grumble if we want, but it helps to have things layed out clearly, as you have done.

Thanks man. Really didn't want folks thinking this was just something the "staff" pulled out of the air one day.

To be perfectly candid, if every region was like the NW, I'm pretty certain these changes never would have been implemented. There would have been no need. The problems/concerns I mentioned in my post... none of that really occurs here.
