They are doing a bunch of good things at Rainy Daze. if you can only visit one brewery in the area that would be the one. Western Red is still finding their stride but looks promising long term. Valholl is always a good bet. Marina Market is good for those rare, forgotten, bottles that you want to take home and cellar.

I've only ever had their beers at fests, but I've enjoyed the Rainy Daze brews I've had.

For those who live in the South Sound, one of the brewers at Rainy Daze used to work at 99 Bottles.

Aslan in Fremont opened this week and has salumi sandwiches. Very solid new addition to Fremont just north of brouwers.

    THE Salumi? That's great news.

Spending a couple of days in Seattle later this week while my wife is in a certification class. Unfortunately lost my wallet last week and only have a temporary paper ID. Am I going to have a rough time being served at the local breweries?

Can’t wait until Revel moves back into their new space next to Aslan.

You should be fine. I rarely ever get carded but YMMV depending on your facial hair and how old you look.

Does Skookum do any inhouse cans or crowlers? Last I had of them probably 2 years I think they were draft only.

Yeah, they crowler. Also have their core beers in bottles, and sometimes, large format specialty stuff.

Good timing! Skookum is actually doing their first can release of Southern Glow and Double Citra Jack today.

    Brewery-only or seeing district, too?

    (Thanks for sharing!)

Brewery only as of now. Skookum has had it all over Instagram and Facebook the last couple days.

Fwiw i disagree with this. These days if people haven't seen you before expect to get carded very frequently. The law is that you have to have a valid id ihat shows you are over 21 so even if you are fifty they can get fined if you don't have it or it's outdated. Most places are carding pretty frequently.

Except for the revel part. That I agree with 100%.

Oh no, I always have my ID on me and regularly have it ready to show. One place just looked at me and told me they didn’t want to see it.

Believe it or not I was young once and the same thing happened to me. There used to be a tavern on Market Street - The Valhalla. I went in to get a beer and was told to leave, I couldn't possibly be old enough - I was 25 at the time. Needless to say I never went back. The Sloop was my go to place anyway.

It was really funny when Larry walked into Georgetown and almost all the employees got super excited and instantly recognized him.
