    I apprecitae all the help, @drone @distantmantra @BuckeyeOne

I guess I should've said - I'm staying by SeaTac since I'll be working in that area. I'll see what coffee shops are open on the 5th though to try and stock my room with good coffee before the work week starts.

Burien Press - Good coffee and beer (serious good tap and to-go selection) and close to the airport.

My gosh. I could order a to-go mixed 6er and a coffee. Talk about a ticker's dream. I know where I'll be headed after landing.

I need to do a deeper dive tonight when I have some free time, but any sleepers on Burien Press's list of available beers?

Definitely going to pick up some Cloudburst (lagers especially), the Smoked Rye Lager, and eyeing that BA stout on tap.

If it helps narrow it down at all, I tend to enjoy everything except sours (probably not a beer style I'll crack open after site work all day either.) Some of those saisons sound pretty good. I just need to read more, but if something stands out to you, I'd love to hear about it.

EDIT: These will be hotel beers for me for the week, so probably best to avoid any 750s or too many high alcohol options. I'd still like to leave the hotel to explore :stuck_out_tongue:

I'd suggest the Garden Path stuff, but sourness levels vary. They use the natural, wild Skagit yeast they've harvested and developed, and it has a funk, but can border on sour.

If I had trunk space in my bag for beer, I would probably bring some home. As it is, I'll be packing site work PPE, then items for disc golf, hiking, running, and casual wear (flying direct to Nashville for a guy's trip.) I'll be hurting for bag space.

Well, I just spent a lot of money on beer. Thanks for the suggestions. Got a number of different styles. Looking forward to those WC IPAs, and nabbed a couple of Fair Isle's offerings, including a kvass.

Now that I've got my hotel room stocked, I got to figure out where else I want to visit.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I'm sure I'll be back with more questions.

Thanks to @Harrison8 for asking the questions and the group for all the intel. I’m coming a week from tomorrow for 9 days, albeit more on a family vacay trip, visiting relatives and so on. This is still super helpful (the entire thread). My brother’s girlfriend decided to stay in his big ass house in the burbs and give us her apartment in Fremont, which is amazing.

Feel free to ignore this off topic query but I’m asking everyone - recommendations for an overnight excursion within 2-3 hours of seattle for some stunning PNW vistas, ocean views and so on? This is with a 3.5 year old so can’t get into any ambitious hikes, just short walks. Olympic peninsula? Been once before and camped by Mt. Rainier and also deception pass - pre child. Can leave early in the morning day one and return late day two. Can’t wait!

Very appreciate of this group for answering all those questions.

I'll chime in for a moment on the hikes and say my plan is to go to Rainier National Park and hike Paradise and maybe Spray if I'm feeling good. I'm open to other suggestions, but was looking to keep my day out of Seattle a little closer to my hotel. There has also been some talk of getting a team together to hike Rainier, and this would be a good chance to see the volcano up close. I'm open to other options though. I think I'll pack along one or two of my Cloudburst lagers for those hikes. That seems like the right option.

At the risk of sounding like a honkin' homer: Bellingham.

Plenty of stuff for the youngin', lots of easy, family oriented walks in near/town (here's one folks with kids rave about: https://whatcomlandtrust.org/property/stimpson-nature-reserve/), there's a nice drive out mt. Baker Highway to Nooksack Falls and up to the ski area (it looks like Artists Point won't be opening this year, due to maintenance issues, but it's still wort the drive), and we've like 15 breweries now. if you want more details, shoot me a message.

I'd recommend heading over to Port Townsend. It's a super nice town on the water with plenty of stuff to do for the family. It's a short distance from some fun ocean spots as well as front range hikes in Olympic National Park.

Propolis Brewing and Pourhouse are definitely recommended in PT. Finnriver Farm and Cidery is just 15 minutes south and a great spot for lunch; lots of good food, stuff for kids to do, and great cider.

Make sure to watch An Officer and A Gentleman before heading over. It was filmed in and around PT. The kiddo would have a blast running around Fort Worden.

It took me a second to decide whether this was a typo or clever subliminal messaging on a beer forum.

Well, it started as a typo, then I noticed it, thought about it, and decided to leave it. So, a little of both.

Caskcades and Rainier Growlers in Puyallup have great selections on your way up to the mountain.

Sadly, they ran out of the Fair Isle beers I ordered. If anyone knows where I can get those, I'm all ears. Really looking forward to trying a different kvass.

Otherwise, photos later today. Now it's time to get lunch and sit by the water.

Do you have a car? Just drive up to Ballard and get them at Fair Isle.
