Sure thing. You've definitely earned them. Please let me know all your sizes, except for Terry, whose I just so happen to remember...

On an unrelated, albeit slightly more on topic note, those newcomers & visitors to the area who haven't gotten the memo that it's currently Seattle Beer Week can find all the event information they might need here. Whatever the stripe of your cabal, and even for those who aren't part of one, t'is an especially grand time to be a beer enthusiast in the Emerald City...

Are any of the breweries in walking distance of each other? I like doing breweries in clusters. Thanks.

Several options. There's a cluster in Ballard, which is also relatively near Fremont. Also, down near the stadiums is small grouping as well. There's a few downtown, near Pike Place Market too.

Thanks, which are by the stadium? I'm considering going to a game. It seems cloudburst, old stove, etc are a cluster. In Ballard, looks like there is a ton with Stoup and Reuben's the big two. Fremont has Fremont and few others. Need to fit in Holy Mountain too.

Stadium? Seapine and Schooner Exact are a bit South of the stadiums. Elysian is right there.

You can walk to Cloudburst from Holy Mountain and vice versa, but it's not super close or anything.

If you're willing to bus around, you can do a little loop from the touristy center of downtown (Westlake) to a few of these. Rapid Ride D will go downtown -> Holy Mountain -> Reuben's. Then the 40 goes Reuben's -> Fremont -> Downtown.

Cloudburst can be reached by walking from downtown, or the D can get you a bit closer. Can walk to a few once you jump off at Reuben's, and you can also walk between Fremont and Brouwer's Cafe. If you're looking for some craft beer history, you are also right next to Pike Brewing.

    Does Cloudburst and Holy
Mountain have food trucks at opening? Thanks.

No. Cloudburst is near Pike Place Market and lots of good options. There is a good pizza place next to Holy Mountain and there is a Taco Time across the street.

The question from the out-of-towner and your response makes me wonder if I should add an asterisk next to the breweries that have food trucks on the regular.

Thoughts? I can see pros and cons. [Major con from my perspective: Means more work for me.]

While I can see both sides, I'd say no to adding the food truck angle. That's information that's likely on a breweries website, or could be obtained with a quick call, email, or social media message.

also, in a city like Seattle (or Portland), you are never more than 5 minutes from some kind of good food

I take the opposing view. As we have seen time and again, just because some information is readily findable some other way doesn’t mean that people won’t come asking for it here. If the main purpose of this thread is to preempt the most frequently asked questions, then the more information it provides at the outset the better. I don’t think it would be too much extra work, as a one-time project, and would save the trouble of some repetition.

It would probably be important to note some obvious things, however: namely, that there are gaps in food truck schedules, they are subject to change, that the most up-to-date information can (generally) be found on the brewery’s page/social media, and, as derftron notes, that good food is never going to be more than 5 minutes from any one of these places. If people need more specific information/recommendations, they can (and will) still ask.

On the same note, perhaps it would be useful to also indicate which places are, or aren't, kid-friendly. This would be more work still, but could probably be done fairly easily with some crowd-sourcing of the well-traveled regulars here. That question seems to come up often-ish.

Right, and since they would have to check the website anyway, to find out that days option, why add the extra layer?

I still can't believe someone ratted on Reubens to the city, eliminating food trucks outside.

Probably a restaurant, they hate food trucks.

Personally, I see people having to answer the same questions over and over on the quarterly installments of this thread as the superfluous thing. By adding a little more information (about food trucks, policy towards minors, etc...) to the original post the next time it's created, some trouble could be saved. For both sides.

But, really, if you wanna keep fielding and answering the same queries, you go right ahead.

IIRC, this is the first time this specific question has been asked. I'm a HUGE fan of the "visiting" threads, and I'm of the belief that they should be more broadly taken, and folks who have specific questions are encouraged to ask them. Keeping those threads as simple as reasonably possible is the best approach, IMHO.
