I appreciate all these recommendations. While I've seen a number of Reuben beers on tap around town, outside of the Gose, I haven't seen any of the other beers you mentioned (but I'll keep my eyes open for them now).

As for actually coming up to the brewery, until construction is completed on I-5 north, just north of Tacoma, I'm keeping trips up to the Seattle area to an absolute minimum. My wife's mother lives in Woodinville, so we have certain family obligations, but outside of that, I'm not sure I can see myself making it up to Reuben's any time soon (unfortunately).

Lot of great info here, thanks!!!! I'm visiting next week and was wondering if there are any events or releases to look out for, hoping to hit up a few breweries!

I'm there Sunday-Thursday, not 100% I will be able to make it up to there (have to see what the girlfriend has planned), but if I can make it to Bellingham I will let you know!

I'm headed up to Seattle this weekend (Sunday through Tuesday) to catch a couple of ball games while my Dad is in town. I was wondering if anyone could provide some suggestions for best authentic Polish food in town? I've heard good things about George's, Sebi's, and PB Kitchen, but I've never been to any of these places and was looking for some first hand opinions from voices I've come to trust. Any and all other recommendations are welcome as always (I'm fairly familiar with the NW forums here on BA). Small, hole-in-the-wall places that aren't super touristy are right up our alley (Dad cares more about food - I care more about the beer - Neither of us cares about wine, cocktails, or coffee). Also, any recommendations for cool places to check out some fireworks for the Fourth?

As for beer related stuff I think I have a fairly decent idea of where we are going to visit. We will definitely be checking out Fremont, Hale's (there is a good reason), and Cloudburst (my Dad will want to check out Pike's so we'll be in the neighborhood). May also consider making it up to Reuben's while we're visiting Hale's just because of all the praise in these forums for their solid taproom lineup across a breadth of styles. Also, can someone point me to some information about this Instant Karma beer from Fremont that I've seen mentioned? Is this something that I'll be able to get cans of and/or be able to have a pint of while visiting Fremont sometime during the timeframe of Sunday through Tuesday? Is there going to be a special release for this that I need to avoid (or any other special releases for that matter)? I'm not so hip when it comes to the social medias.

Apologies if this isn't beer-related enough, but the folks on this forum are just too good of a resource on all things Seattle.

    Thanks in advance!

Goes on sale tomorrow, but bulk of cans will be at the bottleshops which worked on the collaboration and not at Fremont.

Edit: Here is a social media free link which includes some description of the beer: http://www.washingtonbeerblog.com/i...beer-in-the-bottleshop-collaboration-project/

Despite being half-Polish, I'm afraid I know next to nothing of the national cuisine and even less about which establishments do it well here in town. But the first two places you mentioned seem to be highly regarded on Yelp, so those probably figure to be good bets. Perhaps other forum Poles, or more knowledgeable gourmands, can be of greater help...

If, however, you like bookstores even half as much as me, stop in at Elliott Bay. It's not nearly as large or well-stocked as Powell's, but it's a lovely place to get lost for an hour or two. It has the added benefit of being close to Chuck's CD (arguably Seattle's best bottle shop) and the Pine Box (a terrific beer bar).

As for the fireworks, it might depend on where you're staying and your tolerance for traffic and crowds. From a purely aesthetic standpoint, I recommend watching them from the north (Wallingford area) or from a high vantage east or west of Lake Union. Whatever you do, stay far away from Gas Works Park.

With respect to beer, I strongly endorse the idea of visiting Reuben's. Stoup is also very close to it, and worth the stop. If you are headed back downtown afterwards, or have some time on another day, you really ought to stop in at Holy Mountain. I mean, it's right there. You might as well...

Lastly, if you are taking in some ball games, you won't be far from Seapine. Go to Seapine. Good room, good people, good beer.

Hope you have a great trip up here with your Pops.

My buddy is heading up next week and wondering if there's any rusty nail laying around or is it all long gone?

I'll also say Reubens does an excellent goose and kolsch.

The best Pierogies and Golumpki in town is what we're looking for. We may likely just try them all out.

Thanks a ton for all of the suggestions! We did plan on checking out the bookstore, so I'll make sure to hit up Chuck's as well while we're there. I will also add Stoup and Seapine to our list of possibilities. We may end up checking out Holy Mountain as well depending on timing (do they have an online taplist?). Thanks again!

I think at this point you're probably SOL on finding any RN in town. There's a separate RN thread you might want to take a look at, which will give you an idea of how difficult it's become finding RN, even in the local area.

They do. And I think it's even kept fairly accurate and up-to-date.

It's not pierogies, but, there's a Russian dumpling place in Fremont called Pel Meni. They have a spot up here, but, I must confess to never having had them sober, they're pretty close.

While at the market, make sure to poke your head in DeLaurenti's. I'd also actually recommend Old Stove if you're down there.
