*cough* Iron Horse in Ellensburg *cough cough*

No but to add to everything, there's now a craft beer tasting tent at the Gorge. Iron Horse, Whipsaw, Icicle, and Ten Pin will all be there if you want to sample before the show. Tasters are $5, Full pours are $8 IIRC.

I'm headed to Seattle for a few days next week to see Pearl Jam. It is my first time in the area.

I will likely be on my own on Wednesday afternoon and most of Thursday and was planning on using bike share to see a few neighborhoods. Haven't had a chance to nail down exactly what I want to do, but it seems like Golden Gardens Park > Ballard Locks > Reuben's > Freemont > Gas Works Park would be a nice ride with fairly spaced-out stops on one of those days. Does anyone have lunch recommendations somewhere in the vicinity of Reuben's or Freemont?

Are they any other areas that are particularly bike friendly that combine site seeing and beer destinations? My beer preferences are WC (or at least non-NE) IPAs and lagers. On Friday we are kayaking and then hitting Seapine before the concert at Safeco.

Thanks for any recommendations you can provide.

Holy Mountain should still have Three Fates (pilsner) on tap and they’re near the cruise ships. Urban Family’s Taproom only pilsner is phenomenal and they’re on the other side of the Locks in Magnolia.

Depends on what kind of food you're looking for and whether you want to incorporate beer into the lunch plan as well, but as for sandwiches Un Bien, Paseo, and Royal Grinders I find to be pretty tasty. Un Bien would be out near Golden Gardens, Paseo would require a little bit of a change of route but isn't too far away from Fremont, and Royal Grinders would likely be effectively on the way. Leary Traveler has good pub food and good beer and would be along the way. Masonry has good pizza and great beer lists over near Fremont. You'd probably be too early in the day for the food truck at Reuben's or Stoup based on my assumptions of your timeline. There's probably plenty more around Ballard in particular to choose from, but those are the first things that come to my mind.

I will be pregaming friday before the PJ show at Seapine as well.

I'll be up in Seattle from Friday through Tuesday. PJ>SubPop30>Jack White. With ample beer stops mixed in. I have never been to Stoup so that is high on my list for this trip. Any particular beer releases or beer events during that weekend (August 10-13)? As always I am sure we will be camped out Seapine for a significant amount of the time.

Also, any west seattle recommendations? I have been to beverage place and am sure will be there again on this trip. Staying right on Alki Beach. Anything else close to there worth checking out? Food or beer?

Mean Sandwich in Ballard also has great sandwiches, but do not waste your time at the brewery next door. Hale's Ales now has an outpost of a Mexican food truck inside, El Camion, and their beers are solid. That is right off of the bike trail you'd take from Fremont to Ballard. Or you could eat at Brouwer's Cafe which has good food and many taps, also near the bike trail..

For West Seattle, definitely check out Beer Junction for the widest selection of beer on the peninsula.

Super Deli Mart is a unique convenience store where you can enjoy beer on draft, a sandwich, and browse vintage bottles.

Locol has good food and a good beer list. Beer Star in White Center is a popular beer hall near lots of interesting places to eat. Mioposto and Pizzeria 22 up the hill from Alki in Admiral serve nice wood-fired pizza.

Heading back to Seattle at the end of September for 3 nights. At this time, not planning on renting a car. Staying near Ballard area. Doing Baseball one night, the Chelsea Wolfe/Russian Circles concert the next night, and one night open (i.e. drinking).

Returning to Holy Mountain is a definite, which I will probably do prior to the baseball game. The concert is at The Showbox, if I remember from my last visit there should be a decent brewery right nearby, right? Maybe Cloudburst? I didn't drink there last time, I just remember walking by it. If so, that will be my pre-concert stop. If not, likely a return to Holy Mountain....because I don't think I can get enough. Or maybe Fremont, who I visited my last time out there. Sunday I will probably stay in the Ballard area, thinking Reubens and Stoup.

    Any bad decisions there?

Showbox at Market or Showbox SODO? Guessing market, given your post. Yes, Cloudburst is just down the way. But, Pike is right across the street.

IMHO, Pike don't get enough love, in general, and particularly as suggestions for visitors. Their regular lineup is worth checking out, but, I've always been impressed by the in-house lineup. If nothing else, if one likes big beers, XXXXX Stout and Old Bawdy on tap, at the source, is worth the stop.

Plus, food, while not special, is worth eating.

Didn't know there was more than one Showbox.

It's the one @ 1st, which I guess is Market. Google mapped it and Pike Brewery is right across the street. Will give that a go. Cloudburst was considered largely for convenience, I saw they had a German Pilsner on tap and I saw it on the must hit list at the start of this thread, but if there is a better option I am certainly all for it.

Yup, Shoebox Market is the one on First. No reason you can't hit both Cloudburst and Pike

If you’re gonna hit a brewery in the market I’d take Old Stove over Pike.
