Whatever style you like, we got several breweries who do them.

Reuben's, urban family, cloudburst, fremont, holy mountain, seapine would be my go to for IPA these days. Check taplists and see what is new and interesting or go to whichever is closest to you.

Thanks guys for the info - I like both WC IPAs and NE IPAs, as well as stouts, lagers, (non-IPA) ales, etc. I stay away from sours, but my gf loves them so places with good sours are still on the table too!

I will be going to Seattle next week and only have so much time. Can anyone tell me which I should go: Beer Junction or Vine Street Market to purchase some beers? I plan to buy some beer to drink where I'm staying. Not so much to bring home except a bottle or two.

Where are you staying? Vine Street is downtown and Beer Junction is over in West Seattle.

Near Capital Hill and the University.

Seattle University, right? UW isn't in Capitol Hill. If that's the case you should just go to Chuck's Central, then.

The location I’m staying isn’t really an issue. I just want to go to the best bottle shop you can find, it doesn’t necessarily need to be the closest.

If you're looking for stuff to mainly drink in your hotel, I'd go to Beer Junction or Bottleworks. BJ sells singles of mostly everything and BW let's you break up anything in the store. They both also allow have taps to drink on site.

Both Chucks locations are awesome stores and they are getting better about selling singles but they're not as extensive as the other two stores. The CD location is definitely worth it if traffic sucks and you don't feel like driving across the bridges.

unless you're looking for vintage lambic at secondary prices I'd put chucks CD head and shoulders above bottleworks so far as selection goes. BeerJ is probably the most reliable selection in the area, but it's a trek out to the junction.

    Agreed.

My "extensive" comment was about selection of and ability to buy singles, nothing to do with overall selection. If you're in Capitol Hill, short on time and want to maximize your ability to drink good beer I'd honestly just stay put and go to Chucks CD.

Traffic is probably going to suck over the weekend with the M's in town, so wasting a ton of time driving over to West Seattle or Wallingford isn't the best move.

    Two questions:
What does CD stand for after Chucks? What are the M’s?

With both of your input, I think I’ll go to Chucks, especially considering I can walk I with my kids. Definitely looking for some decent sours and IPAs.

CD = Central District. There are two Chucks locations: the original one on 85th in Greenwood (North Seattle) and the newer one in the Central District, which is just east of Capitol Hill.

Beer Junction and Bottleworks aren't kid friendly, so good call on Chucks. They've got ice cream and soda, too.

Oh, the M's are the Mariners.

Awesome thanks! Is it worth the trek to Holy Mountain for to go bottles? I plan to go to Fremont as that is the only one I’m familiar with. All other breweries you listed on the first page are breweries I never heard of.

The Seer is the only bottle currently available to go right now at Holy Mountain, and you can find that all over town. If you're not able to drink there (no kids allowed) and just want bottles I wouldn't go. However, you should hit Reubens and Urban Family if you're gonna do Fremont. They're all kid friendly.

Any chance somebody might have a bottle shipper they don’t want? Or is it easy to come across one? I’m flying in next week and thought about bringing some beer back home.

I forget which thread it was that we were talking about Schooner Exact, but I was at Grocery Outlet a earlier today, and they had Sixers of 3 Grid for 8 bucks. Canned 10/18/17. So, for science only you understand, I grabbed a sixer. Tastes like 7 month old IPA, BTW. Anywho, any update on the change-over at SE?

The grocery outlet near me does beer and wine tastings and i always feel a little sad for the breweries since the beers that people are trying are usually about a year old. Not good representation.

Yeah, BGO is the only place I regularly check dates. Also grabbed a sixer of Scuttlebutt 777 Triple ((best by 5/30/18, but it's a Triple, so....) and a couple other things. If ya pay attention, you can save a couple bucks on "drinking beers".

They've reopened Schooner. I heard they were dropping Exact from the name because people are too dumb to figure it out. Seriously.
