It really depends on what type of clients these are. I would definitely steer you away from Tap House Grill --- I hate that place for a number of reasons. Yard House is a little better but it's still not great --- the food is decent and the tap list is great and expansive --- but the music's loud on weekends and at night. It's OK if your clients are a bunch of dudes and you don't mind loud music, lots of TVs with sports, and yelling at each other to be heard.

Pine Box is great and relatively close. But the walk is uphill the entire way from the convention center. Again, depends upon whether or not you want your clients trudging up a hill for dinner and beers. Again, it's great but the walk is something to consider. On the other hand, the walk home with full bellies is all downhill.

There are two places that are a bit farther --- like a 15-min. walk from the convention center that I would seriously consider: Collins Pub (already mentioned) and Bell + Whete. Both have very good food and great taplists. The distance is farther but it's flat to walk to both.

I'd suggest the other places mentioned just to avoid the PAX crowd. Tap House will be packed. Yard House less so, but still pretty busy.

I hear this Saturday a brewery is releasing bottles of a few fruited sours. It's a good thing there's never a high demand for those.

It kinda got lost amongst all the Holy Mounain/Fremont release shenanigans, but Toronado put on a keg of Cable Car today.

$9 pour actually seems fairly reasonable (unless it's a 3oz pour).

I think my pour was 8 or 9 oz.

In town, downtown at the Crowne Plaza for 3 nights- visit Seattle often, but not lately as a beer snob. Will have a car, but really don't want to use it. Very familiar with downtown, but not bar/pub/restaurant wise- where are the best places to go for beer?

Downtown? Collins Pub, Flatstick Pub, Pine Box, Cloudburst Brewing and Old Stove Brewing.

If you're willing to go a bit further, The Masonry and Holy Mountain are North and Seapine is South.

How funny. I was talking about Cable Car on the way to the Holy Mountain release.

It was on the live board before they opened, off by 12:22pm today. Anyone know if they tapped out or just pulled it down for later? Also anyone know if they have bottles?

Been meaning to try it, and been meaning to hit Toronado.

The keg probably blew. They should still have bottles.

Hey, just found out that I'll be heading down tomorrow (9/6), for an event at the Seattle Flatstick. If any of y'all are gonna be in the area, swing by and say hi.

Just got more details. It's a kind of BBW kickoff event, a mini-golf tourney between the Bham breweries. Plenty of Bham beer is supposed to on tap. Swing by and cheer me on!

A bunch of Bham hobos drinking and swinging metal clubs in a confined space...what could possibly go wrong?

Alas, I cannot seem to find my plate armour, or else I might. (Actually, I'm already tied up, but one of these days...)

I think Mollusk (formerly Epic Ales) deserves a mention too. Their farmhouse style ales are decent but I felt the food was the real star.

Just back from a 3-day conference; managed to get to Fremont, Reuben's and Cloudburst, along with Pine Box, Chuck's, and Vine Street Market.

Fremont was a disappointment - put in a good few hours there and worked through over half the taps, and the only thing that stood out was the kolsch (though it was probably the best I've had outside of Germany.)

Cloudburst was great, right on trend for those hazy, aroma-forward hop bombs.

Chuck's was the highlight - I'd have died happy there if only Team USA hadn't lost to Canada in the hockey World Cup.

I peered in the window of Old Stove when they were closed but never went back - from this thread it sounds like I missed out.

Overall I was impressed with the customer service and general vibe of Seattle - much more hospitable city than Portland or Vancouver, B.C. Hope to get back soon!

I cannot imagine going to Fremont right now and not being being impressed by the fresh hop beers. Like seriously I'm flabbergasted.
