Gotta admit, I'm seeing this one from EA's POV. I have not "blocked" disco kitty, because, well, I like to argue. Just as a hobby. But, he's been slacking lately. He is starting to present himself as a (almost) reasonable and thoughtful human. Is our "favorite" Amazonian actually learning how to be a people?

As an aside; did anyone ever take him up on that offer of his rental unit?

The pub in the new construction building on NW 50th St in Ballard is called "Trailbend Taproom". Still not open for business, but the tap list is on their wall.

Not to start a giant thread war or anything....but it looks like the Shambles are having their soft opening this Saturday.

I think that it's a good idea to let people know about The Shambles' opening but not necessarily add them to the 'must hit' list just yet. There's always some note of breweries, bars, etc. in the comments on this thread that don't make it on the list.

Going to have to wait for the Vashon ferry out of Fauntleroy on Thursday night for a couple hours its looking like. Anywhere around the ferry terminal that is good for a couple pints and food? Cant seem to find ANYTHING around it.

You're going to be on the Seattle side? Beveridge Place Pub is close by–you can call in food there. Super Deli Mart is close as well. Or go into White Center to Beer Star (never been) and eat something from nearby (great taco truck/Proletariat Pizza).

Edit: If you mean like, waiting in your car there at the terminal and walking distance–no.

How about Endolyne Joe's? I haven't been there in forever but I remember the food being better than decent. And like most places they'll probably at least have Manny's on tap, I imagine.

It's about a 10 min walk from the ferry terminal.

Forgot about that spot! Definitely had good food years ago; looks like there's a Wildwood Market in that same area now, too (maybe where the Mexican restaurant used to be?). If food is the priority, yeah, I'm sure either of those would be tasty and have a few options at the very least.

Yep! Thanks ... Just logging back in and seeing!

Don't think food is the BIGGEST priority. Would rather have some good beer haha, but looking in the area doesn't seem like much. I can uber wherever really, but the closer to the ferry the better.

Also, can I bring beer on to the ferry with me, or is it a big no-no to drink on the ferry?

No outside alcohol, and I'm pretty sure even that sold onsite has to stay in a certain part of the boat.

So if you're willing and able to Uber, Beveridge Place Pub is your best bet. Should be a couple of minutes by car.

The last time I was on a ferry this past summer there were a couple of really good beer options served on the ferry.

Get ye to The Shambles. I've been twice now and I can't recall a better taplist in town. And the food is fantastic. Go for the meat and cheese charcuterie plate. You won't regret it.

My wife and I need a date night at Shambles. She's itching for that charcuterie plate and some bourbon.

Nice, that's her regular "house" bourbon.

Beer list has been looking even better than I was expecting.
