Visiting SF, beer questions

    So I'm thinking of visiting San Francisco in a couple months, maybe around Labor Day, and I've got some questions regarding beer.

    I probably won't have a car when I'm there (or is this insane and I need to have a car?) so with that in mind:

    What breweries MUST I see? (And if the best breweries need a car to get to, I can always rent for a day, no worries) What beers MUST I get? And what beer bars MUST I check out? And any other recs are definitely appreciated.

    First step is to remove your Kanye glasses from 2009 they are obscuring the search function.

    Second step is to visit: City Beer Store, Toronado, Speakeasy, Magnolia, Social Brewery and Kitchen, La Trappe, Beer Revolution, Church Key, Healthy Spirits, 21st Amendment and some others I probably missed.

    Russian River, Bear Republic, Drake's, Lagunitas, among others. And skip Social. Neither their food nor beer is very good.
