I'll be in St. Paul and New Brighton, Minnesota soon and was wondering if there are any good bottle shops there. I am coming from California, and would love to by stuff we don't get here. Any input is much appreciated...including recommendations on bottled brews selling at those shops. Thanks.

Heritage in Maplewood, Thomas (they usually have limited releases longer) and Ale Jail in Saint Paul are all places I would check out.

New Brighton Liquor Barrel is a very good store.
    Cheap Surly prices as well.

Rosie's Old Ale at Barley John's is a must try if they have it on while you're there.

Barley Johns absolutely. Not sure when you are coming to town, but Bent Brewstillery will be opening their tap room 8/21. They usually will have bottles of some magical sour available or at least growlers. Go and enjoy.

Seconding Barley John's and Stinson Wine Beer and Spirits. The aforementioned St. Anthony municipal liquor store doesn't have the selection of Stinson, but they do have overall good prices.

Head west on I 694 from New Brighton about 6 miles and check out Surly Brewing's taproom. You won't regret the visit to a world class brew house.
