Hi there Great Lake BA's. I'm planning a trip to Madison with several day stops in Chicago and Milwaukee. Are there any places I should stop by that I might not know of? Right now my tentative list is:
    Goose Island
    Piece
    Half Acre
    Revolution
    The Hop Leaf
    Three Floyds
    Solomon's Oath
    Horny Goat
    Lakefront
    Miller

I'll be renting a car to go to everything that is outside of Chicago. So if there is a brewery that would be along this route please let me know. I will be going to New Glarus later in the week. Also, if there are any great bottle shops please let me know. I keep hearing people mention Binny's in Chicago as being amazing. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Do yourself a favor, skip Horny Goat.....seriously. Miller is worth a stop, the novelty of a huge corporate brewery is there and a few cool things to see (the Caves) if you ignore the crowds, cheesy tour guides, bums on tour to score free beer, and the MillerCoors commercialism.

Personally, (while in Milwaukee), I would skip the 2 and stop at Discount Liquor (bottle shop), MKE brewery (http://mkebrewing.com/), and maybe even the old Pabst Brewery.... http://beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/25769.

BTW, as I am sure you already know, Lakefront is a must! If you can stop there on a Friday and do the tour, followed by the Fish Fry(and live Polka Music!), you will definitely get a solid taste of Milwaukee!!!
