I was wondering where you were. It's nice to know I'm not the onlyone who earns an occasional time out.

I tell myself that every time, and somehow I still end up with a full box of beer in my trunk.

Personally, I have yet to see anyone ever leave with less than their full allotment. Even if they personally don't want every bottle released, one can always find friends who are willing to take any extras off their hands.

I've got a cousin who can't make the party, so I'll probably just let them buy whatever I don't want. I'm not a fan of the darker de Garde beers.

Super tough problem huh? It's amazing that we get to taste almost everyone before deciding what to buy. I usually will try to pass on things I've had before, or maybe just get 1 each of the 2/pp bottles. But with the bottle list at this party.... I'm pretty sure Imperial Apricot would be the first to get the cut WHICH MAKES NO SENSE!

I've passed on a full allocation several times. But I'm sure De Garde had no trouble finding homes for the bottles I didn't buy. No trouble at all.

Me too. At the last party, Michele and I bought one full allotment, and then gave our second token to some friends so they could cherry pick the things they wanted out of it.

At the May party my dad found an extra allotment token on the ground. Not sure what he did with it.

Okay, good to know that one person can use multiple tokens. This will be helpful in avoiding having to explain to my wife why I need to drop $400+ on beer and instead just send her out to pull the car around while I use the tokens.

Driving up from Santa Rosa Thursday night to Portland then De Garde Saturday morning. Anyone make this journey and know if there is any worry about snow on the way? Taking 5 most of the way. Staying at the Shilo. Any shares going on Saturday night? Cheers

Answer is no. You're good. A month later, you'd probably hit some chain-required spots, but you'll be okay right now.

As long as you're heading home on Sunday, you should be fine. But long range forecast shows a cold front moving down late Monday next week. Too early to tell for certain, but based on projected temps, you could expect to see snow in the southern passes by Tuesday. I assume you'll be back to warm drought conditions by then.

I'm staying in Manzanita on Saturday night. Any good dinner recommendations?

I like the Sand Dune. Better than average "pub grub" and seafood. Also, their oyster shooters are stupidly cheap, something like $18-20 for a dozen.

+1 to this. I was told that the oysters are local, and they sure tasted very fresh. The seafood Bisque was excellent as well, last time I was there. Beer selection wasn't the greatest, but it was tolerable.

I'll be more concerned with food than beer at that point in the evening. Thanks, guys.

Edit: Ft George Fresh IPA and Buoy Pils are the most recent checkins. That's pretty solid.
