Ill be in Tucson this weekend to Tuesday afternoon. Will have Saturday, sunday and most of monday free. Looking for breweries and/or beer bars to visit. Like sours (fruited) and NEIPAs. TIA.
The best IPA's in the state are made in Tucson ( Pueblo Vida Brewing ) They dont really do too many sours. Just a lot of Hazy IPA's. Dont worry though you wont be disappointed with their IPA's! I make the trip from Phoenix quite a bit just because the beer is fucking good. Its located in downtown Tucson on Congress Street.
Thanks, just checked out their website and will be definitely going there. Might have to check my bag so I can bring some cans back.
Picked up 2 4 packs of Pueblo vida and a couple cans of arizona wildnerness at Tap and Bottle. Any other places I should hit up today before I leave? Also might have room for a couple more cans...
Tucson has Borderlands Brewery and Dragoon Brewery. Those are the two that pop in my head right away besides Pueblo Vida.
From a basic search, it looks like Bottle Logic has some draft accounts in Tucson, but I am wondering if it is possible to buy any of their stouts in liquor stores in the Tucson area? Many thanks for any replies. Also, generally speaking, I am curious about what some of the local favorite beers to pick up in liquor stores are? I will be visiting my folks down in Sierra Vista in March and would like to try some new stuff that we don't have up in New England. I have yet to try a beer style that I haven't liked, so please send any recommendations. Thanks!
Heading to Tucson myself this weekend, thanks for the tips here. Will definitely visit those three breweries mentioned. Cheers!
Gonna be in Tuscon next month, think I've got breweries covered, but what's the best bottleshop down there? Specifically a shop that sells single bottles/cans. Based on proximity to where most of the breweries are, looks like the most convenient would be Old Town Beer & Wine, Westside Liquor & Craft Beer, UofA Liquors or Menlo Park Liquors. But any help or suggestions are appreciated.
Damn. Pueblo Vida is fantastic. Just stopped in last night... had the Dark Czech Lager, and two of their different IPAs. Stellar place, brews, and people.
+ 1 on Ermano's - ate their twice it was so good (in three days). The Ahi tuna sandwich thing was maybe the best thing I ate in town. Holy shit.
^^^ I will also say my dining experiences at Ermano's were great!! The food was delicious and they have a pretty big tap list with a lot of Phoenix and Tucson breweries.
Hoping to piggyback off this thread. I’m heading out to tucson in April, use to live there and still make it out every few years. I’ve been to Puebla vida, thought it was great, can’t wait to go back. I’m wondering if there are any new must hit places or which breweries I should be checking out as well as beer bars. Also, any new restaurants I should look at? We always hit Poca Cosa but it’s closed the time we are there. Any suggestions for an anniversary dinner? And Mexican? Appreciate any info you can send my way. Cheers.
Just returned from Az- my two cents and I know neither of these places are in Tucson, but worth the trip IMO- The food at Arizona Wilderness was great as was the beer. Tombstone Brewery is putting out some amazing NEIPAs- I live near both Tree House and Trillium brewing and I packed a few cans of Mediocrity and Rye Ipa into my bags on the flight home.
Right on dude! Anytime you want to trade Tree Houses for Tombstones let me know! I'll fed ex that good stuff to you for some Tree House. Cheers!
Was just in Tuscon and was VERY impressed with Iron John's. They skew more sour/Belgian-focused than hazy IPAs, but if that doesn't bother you I'd implore you to check them out. And I don't know how new it is, but Street Taco and Beer Co. on the same street as Iron John's had the best tacos al pastor I've had in my life.
and heading back to Tucson tomorrow through Friday, mostly work related but will be sure to get back to Pueblo Vida. That place haunts me. The beers were so good. Cheers!
