Hey guys, Visiting NY next week and looking for a good bottle shop and a good beer bar in Williamsburg? Any suggestions? Cheers!
Lots of stuff in Williamsburg. Use my Map: https://mapsengine.google.com/map/u/0/viewer?mid=zwC6ezBHVgzI.kyMuRsydhsSU I suggest: Mugs, Barcade, Spuyten Duyvil, Lucky Dog, Dirck the Norseman, Radegast, Brooklyn Brewery. Only a few minute walk North into Greenpoint: Torst, Keg and Lantern, The Diamond Bottles shops: Bruekulen Bier Merchants, Beer Boutique, Brouwerij Lane (Greenpoint)
Head to Brooklyn Brewery on either Friday from 6-11PM or Saturday from 12-8PM and enjoy some fresh beer. My favorite from the brewery is the Brown Ale. Feel free to bring your own food. Once they close up head to the barcade down the street. Always a good time.
Broukelin beer merchants is closing for good on 4/16, the sellection has been really slim the past few month. I really liked the space and what they were going for.
Bummed to hear about Breukelen Bier. In Williamsburg proper, my go-tos are the previously mentioned Spuyten Duyvil (great bottle selection, particularly of non-local beers, and a handful of well curated drafts) and Mugs (old school spot for imperial pints and an amazing bottle list of vintage rarities). One super laid back place that I don't see mentioned here often, just a regular bar where you can find a good lineup of local drafts, is Banter, on Havemeyer, though I wouldn't prioritize that above the others. Beer Boutique for bottles. And second the suggestions that you venture into Greenpoint for Torst (pricey but worth it for the atmosphere and a couple pours or bottles of things you can't find anywhere else) and Brouwerij Lane (casual vibe, awesome selection).
Beer Street is another good bar in Williamsburg. Nearby is a burger joint called Mothers that always has a good tap list. Both are off the Graham Ave stop on the L train. Another nearby bar is Sugarburg (which is 2 blocks from Barcade and also close to Spuyten Duyvil).
