Visiting Wilmington NC

Its a good day for WBC- per their email yesterday, they have the following beers on. All of the IPAs they have on are fantastic & Blair's Breakfast is also worth trying. Just FYI- Beach Banger is basically baby Midtown swank, in case you want to do something more sessionable. Unfortunately they don't do flights but can do half pours and you can also sample anything you want. Enjoy!

My beercation is almost over...one more day on Oak Island than back to the midwest.

WBC is a winner for sure. Loved it last year and was just as pleased this year. All the IPAs are really good, with my personal favorite being Tropical Lightning. The Vanilla Coffee Porter was awesome. The Gose's were good too. Blair's is a favorite from years past for us. I really enjoyed Beach Banger as well. We stopped at the taproom, got a bunch of half pours and took home a bag full of growlers earlier in the week.

I also checked out some new places this year that I haven't been to before - Bill's Front Porch, Waterline and Good Hops in Carolina Beach. All were alright, with nothing really standing out. The Mosaic IPA at Bill's was decent, and the food was pretty good. Waterline wasn't really memorable. Good Hops was ok, none of the beers were particularly great, but the 3 dogs wandering around the taproom were friendly.

I got lucky and picked up about 7 or 8 different Wicked Weed offerings at Hey!Beer and other places around the area this week, which was a pleasant surprise. Surprisingly found a really decent selection of Wicked Weed at Uncorked by the Sea in Southport.

Also was really happy to find Westbrook Key Lime Pie Gose, and while not necessarily local to the area Troegs Nimble Giant was really good too.
