There don't seem to be too many reviews of bottle shops/pubs in Windsor. Do most people head over to Detroit? Any bottle shops that I shouldn't miss? If anyone on here is in Windsor and are interesting in trading, let me know!
I’m not sure there is anyone using this site regularly from around Windsor. The Canadian forums are largely dead. With Ontario, you will either have to shop directly at the brewery or else at the LCBO, the provincial liquor authority. You can use the LCBO website to browse what is available in Windsor area stores. I can’t say anything from the area I’ve had is can’t miss. I have heard good things about Sons Of Kent brewing in Chatham. They might be available at a Windsor LCBO. This site is out of date; apparently the guy who runs it is now incarcerated.... that said, it has a list and map of Ontario breweries that may be helpful to you. https://ontariobev.net/ Unfortunately, the best breweries in the province don’t use the LCBO and only sell from their bottle shops. Most of these are in Toronto. If you can make it up to Toronto for a day, you’ll have much more available and likely plenty of trade opportunities. Good luck. And cheers!
Check the BarTowel forums. Something was mentioned last fall with some twitter captures about domestic abuse charges. The site hasn’t had an update since October or November. I don’t know much more than that.
Thanks for the response! Unfortunately, I won't be heading up to Toronto on this trip. I wish I could, especially since that's my hometown (well, Ajax actually).
Ah! Ajax. Home of Ontario’s worst brewery... Since responding last time, a friend mentioned that Motor is a good spot for decent if unspectacular beer and good burgers.
Well, I am back after my trip to Windsor. I was pleasantly surprised by Craft Heads. I had a glass of Max's Vanilla Bourbon Imperial Stout, and it was really good! I visited The Beer Store, and was underwhelmed. Pretty much nothing but large, cheap breweries.
