The fiancé and I are taking a scenic drive over to Walla Walla next Wednesday, which includes an overnight stay in Yakima. Of course I'm looking forward to visiting Bale Breaker, but was wondering if there are any other places we should consider visiting as well. There's not a whole lot of information about places to visit on Beerfly/locations, and the last thread mentioning various places to visit in the area is pretty old. Also, my understanding is that they don't serve food at Bale Breakers, so was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for a place to go get dinner.

    Thanks. Cheers!

Bale Breaker has had a food truck onsite when I've visited. It's probably not what you're looking for, food-wise, but I suggest a visit to the Sportscenter downtown. Old-school diner in front, sports bar in back. It's a funky little spot that has the coolest neon sign out front. If you want a basic breakfast on your way out of town, check it out.

Cowiche Canyon Kitchen downtown. The experimental beers that Haas makes at their onsite pilot brewery are regularly on tap there.

    Thanks for the recommendation guys.

Showed the fiance the cowiche canyon menu and she was sold. Didn't hurt that they have a pretty nice looking wine list, in addition to good looking food dishes and a more than passable beer selection.

Much appreciated for this thread. I'm slated to stay two nights in late July near the Convention Center, and I think I know where I'm going for at least one of those nights now.

Stopped by CCK tonight and was very impressed. Really good food, solid tap list and a better than average wine list. Pricing was more than fair on everything and portion size was enough to make the most hedonistic glutton happy. Great place and great recommendation.

I intend to. Just found out the harvest was early this year, and that there are plenty to be had around town. Was here the same time last year, and we were a week too early to get some. Having Walla Walla sweets available is the icing on the cake for any beer/wine related trip to walla walla.
